Come to think of it, there wouldn't have been much of a wait. By the end of LFB, Drool was already showing signs of being eaten away by his proximity to the Stone.

And Solar...that was a very interesting observation...for a number of reasons, it increased both my respect for and concern about the Insequent. [SRD says you're wrong about the "merging" thing, but that's a quibble...I'm having fun pondering LF as Guardian, yet trying to break the Arch.]

It's interesting that SRD should shoot down the 'merging' idea, since he pretty much confirmed it in TOT:

Brinn’s expression did not quaver. Perhaps there was a smile
in his eyes; it was difficult to see in the early light. ‘I am who
I am,’ he said evenly. ‘Ak-Haru Kenaustin Ardenol. The
Guardian of the One Tree. Brinn of the Haruchai. And many

end.’

Brinn flat-out states that he is Kenaustin Ardenol! The plot thickens.
