I was just literally four feet from my copy of AATE, but the crummy bookstore is afraid of giving it to me before the "street date"

Now I'm going to actually have to study for my exams :P

Dis anyone see that article '10 things to do with a Stephen Donaldson book other than read it' (or something to that effect). One suggestion was a game where you open the book anywhere at random and go forward or back untill you find the word 'clenched' (apparently never more than 6 pages). The person who finds it first wins. Sounds quite good fun to me

(Sorry Steve only playin' )

Wasn't there something called 'Clench Racing' a while back? 8)

Sounds like the one to me! (Mind you - could equally well apply to the effects of eight pints of Guiness followed by an Indian takeout 8O )

Over here (Russia) if they know you they'll hook you up and/or if you slip them a bill...
It's one of the things where I feel that people are actually freer in their own minds than in the US - here they know that many laws are meant to benefit a few, rather than the public in general, and so are much less likely to obey the law just because it's 'the law'.

Hey all got the book yesterday the 19th. I had it pre-ordered on Amazon. Already about 60 pages into it. No spoilers here, but I will say I missed my vocabulary lesson the past three years. Many new words in this one. That's all I can say. Gonna take my time, since three years until last one. Enjoy

Intriguing...how often have you slipped someone a bill, Rus? and I mean this in a light-hearted, poke-a-little-fun without being nasty kind of way

I don't. I rely on people knowing me - who I am. Generally, when they get that I'm an American AND an immigrant, I get (relatively) a good deal of cooperation.

What is it with us in the UK. America gets it, Russia gets it and I'm still waiting for my pre-ordered copy which hasn't even been dispatched yet! What the *^%£ is that all about. I may as well have waited and ordered it from the *^%£"!$ library! :x

Identity of dust jacket dude is revealed with 100% doubt-free certainty on page 51. This is not a spoiler I did not reveal any information here.

UK dust jackets for the 3rd series just have an arty embossed pattern on them. Bring back the old 1st and 2nd series illustrator - the one with the round windows in it - is what I say!

Sorry, Peter,
Didn't mean to give the impression that it IS available in Russia. I meant that if it WAS, I could probably get it if it was already at a store (esp. a local one in my town) even if there WERE an official ban on sales.

Of course you revealed information, and as a moderator, I must squash all information! Attack, minions!

I'm reading on my Kindle, so I have no idea what page I am on... but I'm in Chapter 6. I must have missed it...

Are you really a moderator, Orlion? I know Jay, Danlo, and Vain are, but searching the members list does not turn up a list of mods. Sorry, I really didn't think that was a spoiler. I guess you're gonna boot my post off the board then, huh? Sorry. I know we had a discussion some time back asking who the dust cover dude was (US only apparently and only current hardback), and I was letting everyone know where to find out. I won't do it again. I have been sufficiently flogged...........

Don't apologize, Rocksister, your post was just fine as far as I'm concerned... sometimes emoticons are insufficient to convey my humour :D

So it'll stay... at least until I tire of it :P ;)

Does not the UK get it on 28th October or the 1st November if ordered from Amazon?

That's my understanding of it.
