Damn...I didn't know when originally booking that Thursday night was a thing. So Bossk and I are coming up Friday from Denver, so however long that takes to get there, as I'm hoping we can get going early. Then we're leaving Sunday morning, again, hopefully as early as we can get going, so we're missing out on the hike, dammit.

I'm in. Thanks, lurch!

(Note to self: gotta call my friend tonight!)
Lorin -- yeah, I suppose I could change my flight, but that means taking another day off from work too, and given that I just took a week off last week and will be taking another week off starting the 23rd...I don't want them to get the idea that they can get along without me, y'know?

Clearly you are not a NYC bureaucrat like me

Just modify your schedule, work 12x8am and get on a plane, girl! 12x8 is nice once in a while, nice and quiet.

10-to-6 was good. I liked 10-to-6 a lot. I could stay up 'til all hours, and still get up and get to work on time....

Wow. I obviously had no idea how involved this was or how many people were coming. I shall get it right for Elohimfest 4 and come earlier/stay longer, but for this one I think we may make it only for supper at the Cooperage (until I get my mom to read SRD's stuff, she shall not accept my gallivanting around Albuquerque for extended Chronicles-related activities while she's waiting to see me in Tesuque).

If arriving around 5pm makes it still ok, can you add me to the Thursday dinner?
Seconded.

neither did we, it just sort of happened!
(just as fair warning I'm inviting our videographer and my friend who's working on the house with me to the Fri night BBQ. There may be some spot filming of the festivities-and it should be available on disc. Whether or not Romeo and SRD want comments and craziness from fan boys and girls interspersed with the official website interview will be up to them
. My friend also has a guitar and sings very well...I might even break out my bongos and harmonicas
).
BTW Damelon, I'm more worried about throwing out my back playing tennis than I am working on the house-even though we got hit by a 50 mph wind yesterday, my hat flew over house, and just I barely hung on to the ladder!

Oops! I last, last minute thing-I was talking to someone who wanted to know if we were giving SRD anything. Last Elohimfest, you'll remember, we presented him a red and gold plaque (not plague, LOL) commemorating LFB's 30th anniversary. We could present him, if somebody acted very quickly, maybe, a black and silver (representing space) plaque commemorating the 20th anni of The Real Story...maybe I should act...but this process has to start right now...please comment:

It would be awesome for us to commemorate the GAP series, since it's his favorite.

Yes, that would be a great gesture for us to make. While we all focus primarily on the Chronicles, all of SRD's other works (Mordant, Gap, Man Who, and the shorts) are also amazing stories and if we can do something to recognize these other achievements, let's do so!

I will be mentioning Mordant's Need in my public speaking moment of celebrity roasting Mr. SRD.... Also, did not know Thursday was going to turn into such a thing either. It was originally planned as a private dinner to plan the SRD dinner. Oh well, life happens and often it's for a great reason so I say roll with it. All of you all had best bone up on Vardeman and his aliases or butts will be kicked! Got it? GOT IT? GOOD! Thursday, you have until the Thursday night dinner where I will expect that each attendee will have read one of his books.

I have a very busy schedule tomorrow, but will find time to stop by the trophy shop where I designed the LFB plaque and see if they have enough time to create a The Real Story plaque in the same size and style as the Lord Foul's Bane plaque except with a black background and silver lettering and outline. I'll use a modern "chrome-ish" lettering style for the book title.

Other than that it will look the same, except that it will read the 20th anniversary of The Real Story and the dates will read 1991-2011...

Hmmm just got a notice that Elohimfest begins thursday and not friday. We only took the three days off our schedule.
We planned on leaving at around noon friday and getting in to the Duke city at around three... is this more or less ok? Is the dinner no longer Saturday, but thursday?

Dinner with SRD is still Saturday.
Thursday is a planning and setup event at danlo's...with Jenn leading the making of dinner, as I understand it.
You will arrive in time for Friday's BBQ. Look forward to meeting the two of you then!

The mass email was for people not aware of
Elohimfest, not you LZ, yes had you been reading these threads-we talked about a few people (early arrivals) getting together to have an early planning dinner Thursday and it spontaneously grew from there. You see Savor answers all my questions before I can, Jenn, Tam and a few others coordinate everything else while I just get the plaque, set up the videotaping and call the police on you when you get too rowdy! LOL
In other news-The entire back of the house (including that side of the chimney) has been patched and painted smoky blue the deck, door and gate are all stained and terribly beautiful. Comcast has come and removed that funky old cable that hung down too low so it looks like a completely different house in the back (where most of the partying takes place). All we have to do is paint the window and door frames and we're done!!! All systems go! It will be no time flat before the wild rumpus begins!!!

I edited the list and removed farsailer, we are now back down to 31. We may get a few more last minute additions and cancellations but it's likely the list won't change all that much from here on out.

I really am looking forward to seeing you again too, lucimay. ..well actually,, hearing you again is more like it..I mean your Joe Cocker/ Janis Joplin impersonation version of With A Little Help From My Friends..classic classic...They're going to luv it at E'Fest!
I can't Wait!!..okay, okay okay..I''m only joking around.I can wait. But still... I am looking forward to you and Lord Zombiac doin a duo..okay! dahm dahm..dahm do dahm oobbey doo.
..and Sea..get an agent!
Meteor Crater is awesome. I was very young when I saw it but it made an impression on me!
As for duets, I'm partial to "Islands in the Stream," even though I have been known to hate Kenny Rogers.
I'm sure Lucimay and I can find a song to agree on.

OK! Since I need to be prepared for my Thursday night dinner I need everyone who plans to attend who is NOT YET on the list to let me know if they are coming. I am closing the guest list one week before Efest so my prep can be accurate. Also we are missing a few arrival/departure time listings so let's get them posted so we can figure up stuff for the BBQ and Lady Tam's high tea.
