but Batman was promoted as being dark - Lantern seems more family fare. why should DC try to appeal to all ages I guess... just keep the fanboys happy.

True. I would say it's all down to the ratings. Not sure what ratings they got over in the US, but here they were both M for Mature. The F-bomb is kinda standard fare for M movies. So, the producers have to decide what kind of rating label they want to attract, and then families have to decide what rating of movies they will allow their kids to see.

As far as I'm concerned, the messages behind GL and X-Men were much more wholesome than your old-school Disney movies, so I don't mind a bit of cussing.

I enjoyed it a lot! Even aside from Carol Ferris being smokin' hot! The effects were, of course, great. (Saw the 2-D version.) Especially Parallax! Hal wasn't as big a clown as I'd feared he'd be. The story was perfectly good. All in all, a great superhero movie.
