Now that was different, but quite good in its own way.

Manfred Mann by a galaxy.
I classify Bruce with Dylan. Fantastic song writers. Just don't ask me to listen to them perform their own stuff, please.

I know this thread is for best covers, but I just have to share that they play a truly awful version of Father and Son at my work, and it makes me sad.

Sabbath
Pantera
and on that thought...
the story behind Planet Caravan
listening to Ozzy singing quietly without any effects is stunning in an odd way.

But you did forget this one!
Coil - Tainted Love It shows the heartbreak of how people with aids were treated- discarded even- at the time. And look how young they were there! Even a young Marc Almond makes an appearance.
For some of my favourite covers, there are:
Original
Rolling Stones - Gimme Shelter
Cover
Sisters of Mercy - Gimme Shelter
Original
Kim Wilde - Cambodia
Cover
Apoptygma berzerk - Cambodia
Original
willow's song
Cover
Nature and Organisation - Wicker man song

ok - first song i am biased. one time i saw Watt, julie was at a table - i was in front of Watt singing this along with him. I was somewhat drunk and VERY loud. I swore Watt smiled at me and Julie confirmed this and she told me I was the ONLY one singing along with him during the song.
