"People without hope not only don't write novels, but what is more to the point, they don't read them.
They don't take long looks at anything, because they lack the courage.
The way to despair is to refuse to have any kind of experience, and the novel, of course, is a way to have experience."
-Flannery O'Connor
"In spite of much that militates against quietness there are people who still read books. They are the people who keep me going."

Other. Easiest description is Panentheist with Buddhist and Taoist leanings.
I have previously identified with two other categories: atheism and agnosticism.

I still think of myself as Jewish, and when I worship, I attend ultra-Orthodox services. So I selected that on the poll.
But my personal beliefs are also along the lines of Penentheism, although I do not know if the Belief-O-Matic offers that as an option. Here is what is came up with for me.Cambo wrote:Other. Easiest description is Panentheist with Buddhist and Taoist leanings.
It strikes me that like many others, they are confusing Panentheism with Pantheism...1. Unitarian Universalism (100%)
2. Neo-Pagan (99%)
3. New Age (98%)

What would pantheonism imply?

Wouldn't have known they existed if you hadn't pointed it out. I agree with all of their prefunctionary prattle, but $50 for membership? They can bite my knot! (tree humor) besides I have the bloodlines and my middle name means High Priest of the Ashen Grove, so there!ali wrote:(Like, seriously? ADF? OBOD?)

I clicked Pagan, just because I love you.

I signed up for ADF once, just to get their journal. It wasn't $50, tho -- more like $20. (Inflation?

OBOD is in the UK; ADF is in the US. There's another American Druid group, too, but I can never remember what they're called.

Well; belief and lifestyle are often inextricably bound. Just ask the Middle-East! Or the Middle Ages.Linna Heartlistener wrote:YESSSS! Still; in ways we often don't see, our beliefs reflect how we want to live.
Here...you can absorb my atheist experience points since I don't need them.Loremaster wrote:Atheist, and proud of it.

Your Top 3 Faith Match Profiles Are:
1. New Thought (100%)
2. Scientology (98%)
3. Christian Science (Church of Christ, Scientist) (83%)
I ticked Other but I didn't realise just how Other I really was. Me, Tom Cruise and John Travolta are goin' to get on just fine. (I don't even like science
)
I thought the Belief-o-matic test was good but left out the importance of the body which has big implications for what I believe.
