You know what bothers me about facebook? Getting Happy Birthday wishes from people who would otherwise have no idea when my birthday is if the facebook didn't tell them.
Also, I once saw a South Park episode (I don't watch that show much) where everyone was getting upset because someone didn't accept friend requests because he either didn't have time or didn't care much about it. That is funny to me, because one day at work, when I hadn't been on facebook in like a month, this guy I work with came up to me and was all butt-hurt because I never accepted his friend request. I told him I hadn't been on in a while, but I would try to get on and accept. Well, I forgot (because I am not much worried about that sort of thing), and a few days later he confronted me again. He was genuinely upset about it.

I'm one of the guilty parties... but honestly, I'm horrible with birthdays.

I actually like the birthday feature too, because no way could I keep track of everyone in my life's birthday, and I don't mind getting 300 birthday wishes!!
People need to realize that not everyone checks their status twelve times a day or friends everyone that asks. I'm on a few times a week, but people I hardly knew 30 years ago aren't going to make my friend list now. Sorry. It has no bearing on them personally, so get over it!

The awkwardness of new social conventions.
You really and truly didn't even check FB every week.
Your co-worker probably couldn't imagine what it would be like to miss a day on FB.
Probably makes it seem slightly unbelievable to him.
One of my funniest FB faux pas was when I mentioned some goofy joke that a student made on FB, telling him I thought it was funny... it appears to me that for some of the generation of people going through high-school, there's this assumption that "what's said on FB stays on FB."
Scary compartmentalization, if you ask me.
btw, thanks for adding a pronounciation for your name. It was bothering me cause I definitely subvocalize when I read.

I will take any and all birthday wishes from just about anybody, regardless of how they found out. I'm just pathetic like that.

I guess I am probably just weird. Nobody remembered my 12th or 13th birthdays and I guess that left me bitter toward the whole thing. I mean, its ok for some close family and friends, and I think it is nice for me too to have the reminder for some people, but I guess it rubs me the wrong way when certain people wish me Happy Birthday.
I suppose I am a jerk when it comes to birthdays really. I won't wish someone a happy birthday on fb if I wouldn't make a point to tell them happy birthday in RL. But for me, I wouldn't do that to others because I don't want it for myself. But after reading the last few postings in this thread, maybe I should???

See, sometimes I do get on fb frequently, once or twice a day, and post funny things and goof off. But then sometimes I go weeks without checking it out. So if someone gets on my page or whatever they call it, and check out all the photos and vids I have posted, I might seem like an avid fb-er.
You got to watch what you say on fb, though. A bunch of people I work with almost got fired over something they said about a co-worker, and I mean a bunch. Probably the only thing that saved them is that there were so many. Don't know if schools are the same way or not.

Feel free to pronounce however you like
This is actually a new pronunciation I just recently came up with. I am going to make a YouTube diary of my 9 months of training as I prepare for the Tetris World Championships, and this is a pronunciation I came up with to throw people off of its secret meaning

This. (Though, actually I've never gotten 300. So I'm jealous.

Had a piece of toast today. No butter, it was cold in the apartment so the butter was frozen. Cat for some strange reason kept pestering me during the night

It's a Scrabble-like game on Facebook. Altho I guess you can get it for other platforms, too, because it's the game Alec Baldwin was playing on his phone when he got kicked off that flight awhile back.
To be clear, it was a close game. I only beat Orlion by a few points.

I never got it with the Facebook thing in the first place. I set up my account and dug up a few old faces from the past etc, but what did I have to say to them. I got 'friend invites' from people I'd never heard of and endless streams of requests to do boring questionaires about whether 'I was a good lover' or 'how much did I know about cinema'. I gave it up as a bad job having amassed the grand total of 11 'friends' all of whom I haven't seen for 25 years and have no wish to. What is it all about - to this day it escapes me. When everybody is everybody elses friend where does it go from there.

Shoo-rahm Goo-da-tay-treee- I like how it sounds with this pronounciation! Sounds very Land-ish, or maybe more Mordant'ish. (seeing as I've seen it with the "high king's monkeymach" thing all the time.)
Very cool about that skill btw... smart "stealthing," too.

But it shouldn't have happened! I was so far ahead! That'd be like some colonial riff-raff defeating the mighty British Empire!
