Thanks Fist & balon!
I'll go and educate myself some more.
I know this is almost a blasphemous thing to say in this type of community, but I haven't role-played in RL either

, although I did watch a *really* good
Community episode about DnD.

Miss that show. Wish NBC would unhiatus it quick smart.

I haven't done any RPGs, either, really. At least not formally.

I only barely played any rl rpgs. A few games of D&D more than 25 years ago. I much prefer the Pantheon/Inferno/Acropolis style games. A turn is a month, or a season, out a decade. We do big things, instead of having a sword fight, or finding a treasure chest, or whatever.

I haven't done any RL or forum style RPGs. And I'm on another forum that has a lot of RPGs running. Just haven't done it, seems too time-consuming and an uphill learning curve.

That was one of the best episdoes they did, right next to the Good, Bad, Ugly/Star Wars/Paintball episode...
I miss Glee too...come on NBC! Argh!

Not trying to convert you...but it's surprising how simple these games are. Over the last few years, everyone on KW has really busted out the style, and it's perfect for someone with little-to-no experience.
If someone can manage a short-story a month, and (optional) a little extra posting as your character, it's amazing what you can acomplish. Like Fist said, it's almost all big stuff. The exception are the Gamemasters running table-top games on KW (Dungeons and Dragons and Vampire: the Masquerade, IIRC)

Acropolis II has officially started. We have seven players, which is good, but we still have room for a few more. I can hold registration until the 10th if anyone wants in.

I really don't have time for it, but just for the record, what exactly is involved? And how often are players expected to post?

You don't have to post at all. Players are expected to email one turn submission a month (in my game. most other games have longer turn periods). It would make things a little challenging, but you could play without ever visiting KW.
Turn submissions are generally somewhere between a couple paragraphs to (in some players' cases) a couple pages. Results are usually one half to one whole page.
