Thanks for that, I shall check out the book depository.
For our over the ocean pals online that may not know, Poider is a character from a comedy series here in Australia. he is a typical Aussie yobbo, and gets his name from his drunken mates who can't quite pronounce Peter when they have had a few.

Thanks, Poider. (And, btw, I withdraw my comment about wanting to try poidering.) (And, btw, now you remind me of the famous Peeder Jigson, who's making The Hobbit down your way I hear. [link])

Iolanthe wrote:Thanks for that link, Shaun (book depository.co.uk) I've never heard of it before.

Tried to explain to my grandson (aged 6) the other week why Shaun is called Shaun (shorn/Shaun). After I had explained he said "Yes, but why is he called Shaun?". Doh. Must be something to do with Piaget's theory!
Hi Iolanthe, use that link responsibly now!
And  re: your grandson, sounds like he learns like I learn! You may be right about the reason, but it's actually Pig's theory....

And btw, did you change your avatar recently, Schaun?

Whether or no, it's cute.
From where? ;) Yes, Shaun got a guitar for Xmas so I changed his avatar.

Bit of a mix-up here! I'm still Iolanthe, and still a fairy, never a sheep, lovable though he may be :)

Just a bit of a tag mix-up.

It's fixed now.

I think... :P

Although I have no idea what the sheep has to do with it!

I have no idea where the sheep came in either - very confused.

Sorry Poider for hijacking your post

I didn't used to be happy buying stuff online either, (partly because of the abysmal state of our postal service here), but so far no problems. You should be fine. And no doubt Oz models its postal service on the British one, so you've got an even better chance. You should be fine. ;)

You say thanks now, but you won't be thanking me when you're sleeping on a mattress of books in the gutter. Or maybe you will. Maybe that sort of thing makes you happy. I don't know you well enough to say either way.

Ah... anyway.. in all the time I've been a member of the Book Depository cult, I've never not had a book turn up. Once, the wrong edition turned up in an order mix-up. They told me to keep that one and promptly sent another. So yeah, you should be A Ok.

And p.s. I can't remember, is Poider a Fast Forward creation?

Yeah, sorry, Poider. :)

But you know what they say:

Thread drift is inevitable. :P

(I only responded cause I wanted to see the effect of the quote of the quote of the quote of the quote....Well, you get the idea. :P )

I think, MsMary, once you get past the 5 quote barrier, it has the kind of vortex-sucking, evil-hypnotising effect of the good Sgt's avatar. At least that's why I think I've been staring at the screen for the past ten minutes. It could also be because this goddamn fecking humidity has sucked all my fuel out. Days like this I remember 'working for the man' has its air-conditioning advantages.
