Watched the 1st 3rd and 4th videos. Couldn't hear all the questions - will have to watch again when hubby isn't asking me if we need onions!

I remain on Linden's side. Enjoyed seeing SD in the flesh, but I wish he would get his glasses tightened up :)

It's cool isn't it. That gesture of his is fairly repetitive alright, I wonder does it help him think?

Not for long, not for long!

The best part was that SRD knew about you THOOLAHns.

Think on that, and be dismayed.

It would be rather ironic if Donaldson went out of his way to ensure that THOOLAH got what's coming to them before the end.

Maybe an ur-vile named thoolahdweeb can die a painful and humiliating death at Linden's hands.

Remember, every time you say that, you say Linden Avery's name.

Pffth you Linden-haters. :P According to this logic, The Holy Order of TC Haters ought to exist also, not to mention smaller loathing-shrines for every minor character who suffered from a lack of confidence, the jerkass woobie syndrome, or elsewise fell under the spell of despite. The Holy Order of the Third Ur-Vile from the Right in the Middle Row of the Wedge Haters might be a smash success, for all I know. ;)

TC = Thomas Covenant = Top Cat = BILKO

Coincidence?

What's a bilko?

Sorry, showing my age. 1950s American TV programme - character played by Phil Silvers who did the voice of TC in Top Cat. Wonderful programme.

I should state that I hold Covenant and Linden in equal affection. :)

I didn't know Phil Silvers voiced Top Cat! That was a great show -- and verboten. My mother wouldn't let me watch it for some reason. I guess bears stealing pick-a-nick baskets were okay, but cats picking through garbage cans weren't.

No worries. :) I don't think that's something the Finnish television has ever broadcast in any case.

I do vaguely recall Top Cat being shown on some foreign cable channel along with other Hanna-Barbera toons (probably Cartoon Network) when I was younger, but that's about it.

TC's a bloody grouchy git, but I didn't start reading the series in the hopes of finding out that he's a purdy, gallant prince valiant sparkling in the sun (I like my anti-heroes). ;)

Yes, the ethos of the programmes were similar. TC always got one over on Officer Dibble, Bilko always got one over on his commanding officer. One of the cats was very like Doberman in Bilko. Loved Yogi and Boo Boo too! :)

The indisputable leader of the gang
He's the top, he's the tip
He's the championship
He's the most tip-top Top Cat.

Wow. I have not seen that cartoon since perhaps 1964...and the theme song is still in my brain.

As Dam-sel says of me, I have a mind full of junk.

Yay. (Oh, and btw: yay!)

Wish there was a way to find out how many members are proudly displaying one. I think the Army has THOOLAH outnumbered.

That is good for it shows that there is hope for you  Some of the benighted Avery lovers would sully their own love for TC to demonstrate how devoted they are to the Whiney One.

Thus is the power of THOOLAH made plain. Our pure and untainted creed is the true path and it is only a matter of time before all come to see this

THOOLAH Forever!

I hated that urvile, too. It was so smug. And yet, damn how handsome it was! It knew I couldn't resist looking at it and all of its hotness.

Ah, must be the shiny, shaved pate and those huge, wet nostrils always aquiver. What a temptation for you, indeed. Too bad it's lacking the sturdy, powerful Loremaster staff.

I was wrong! Phil Silvers did not voice Top Cat! All these years I thought he did. BUT, the actor who played Doberman did voice Bennie!

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Top_Cat#Top_Cat

And I can still sing the whole of the song as well :D

Back to the Chronicles and Linden (and Covenant)
