I suppose the Latin was designed to impress me? It didn't. With time and patience I could translate all of that...presuming I were interested enough to do it. However, you would never be able to translate this:

I mean, you might get lucky and perhaps guess how I begin to encrypt this but even if you got that far there is still the second layer of encryption that you would have to figure out in order to understand it.
Yes, that was unnecessarily aggressive but you'll get over it.
I don't need to do anything other than what I already do. I did see that movie but unfortunately didn't like it very much. *shrug*
Nice try with the "I'm like Tarentino" but in the future I recommend simply admitting your mistakes.
I'm sure the others will have you but you and I have already had a rough beginning. You remind me of the mezzo whom I dated in college--she was proudly full of her own virtue and thought she was smarter than everyone else, as well, so I choose not to invest any time or energy developing a good rapport with you.

Yet, I believe you have left out one fundamental piece of the puzzle: the mind
I will discuss these fifteen words because the rest of them were so awash with word play and nuance that I can't even approach them form an intelligible angle.
I AM FOCUSING ON THE MIND, NOT LEAVING IT OUT. IT IS THE ORGANIC COMPUTER. I use it as an illustration.
And yet later you go on to say:
babybottomfeeder wrote:I know many of you will hold that the calculator and the brain are a different matters entirely but I conclude that they have the same functionality and end result.
THAT WAS MY POINT THE WHOLE TIME. You’re agreeing with me at the end and denying me at first? Why?
The mind and the inorganic computer are the same creature.
YES, the calculator’s electric/solar power source is powering something imminently simpler than the mind, but I think they both have a similar power source. But the REAL question arises: why, once the electric current or “spark” is gone from the mind that it can't be revived after a certain amount of time? Yet a calculator can be easily repaired if it suffers a "death".
Perhaps death is humanity's fail-safe against the pain created by a nervous system that we so need.
Once we replace the nervous system with something that creates just as complex movement but does not respond to pain then we can stop people from going into shock from broken limbs or wounds--and as long as they don't bleed out too much they could be repaired much like a machine.
It’s not within the realm of fiction but actually the realm of physics.
It’s a distant future that we’ll scratch eventually.
babybottomfeeder wrote:You can explain away the atomic components that create and chemically power brains and "calcs" but you cannot grasp any further as to how both truly associate with the world.

no. I am not explaining anything away. I am making correlation. CORRELATION.
My point had nothing to do with how they interact with the world.

He did nothing of the kind. It came whence ALL impulses, good or bad, come--from OUTSIDE. If that timid man had lived all his life in a community of human rabbits, had never read of brave deeds, had never heard speak of them, had never heard any one praise them nor express envy of the heroes that had done them, he would have had no more idea of bravery than Adam had of modesty, and it could never by any possibility have occurred to him to RESOLVE to become brave. He COULD NOT ORIGINATE THE IDEA--it had to come to him from the OUTSIDE. And so, when he heard bravery extolled and cowardice derided, it woke him up. He was ashamed. Perhaps his sweetheart turned up her nose and said, "I am told that you are a coward!" It was not HE that turned over the new leaf--she did it for him. HE must not strut around in the merit of it--it is not his. twain

But I've never seen
War Games.
My philosophy is I can go down any street I want in my country and the same for this forum. I won't let wackos dictate where my tongue or feet go. So yeah; BottomFeeder, a little more civility and humanity is what makes a man.
And it's what I'd like to see from you.

It's a decent enough movie for 1983. To the best of my knowledge it is the first Hollywood movie that has a hacker as a character and I know it was the first movie use of the term "firewall".

War Games is great fun!!
Gotta disagree about Stand and Deliver. I've seen it at least a few times, and enjoy it every time. It helps that it's a true story. Not at all like the idiotic one with James Belushi, ending with him and the bad student having a bloody fight that Belushi wins. S&D was great for showing him telling them they could sign up for this very difficult thing, he'd work them very hard and take absolutely no crap, and them all going for it. Good to see people wanting to learn, and succeeding, uh, exceedingly.

Is anyone else under the impression that this guy is a troll? I mean, he comes in guns a blazin', with red text and then he starts attacking me in a very personal way.
Hibashi, you seem like you could be a cool dude but for some reason I believe you are a troll maybe? Or maybe ya' just got a big ol' chip on ya' shoulda'?
Please respond in friendship or at least a level of civility that forgoes any red text or ill will.

Aye.
My heart grievously pines to behold
The lack of suomi and its dialects of old
Spoken in this troll-thread
The quirky mind's sweet-mead
The noble barbarian tongue
Born ere Latin was ever sung
With bad rhyming conclude I this
This statement of mine and my wish.

The stomach mingles with the duodenum,
And the jejunum with the colon,
The winds of one's arse mix forever
With a flatulent emotion;
Nothing in the world is single,
Not even one's poop, divine!
In one another's being mingle --
Why not mine with thine?
See the mountains kiss high heaven
And the waves clasp one another;
No fart-blast would be forgiven
If it flowered its lover:
As the sunlight clasps the earth,
And the moonbeams kiss the sea --
What are all these verses worth,
If thou kisseth not ever, me?

I think I disagree. Bravery comes from overcoming fear. You don't even have to know that the feeling you're having is fear, like if you'd never heard or read about fear. Perhaps a child of a tribe of cavemen whose language isn't even developed enough to have a word for it. But he sees some beast attacking, and, though he knows it might kill him if he tries to do X to kill it or drive it away, and this gives him a feeling that he has not learned about from anyone, he does X to save everybody.
