Who cares if anyone multi-posts?
I did say
technically. It's not like we really enforce it or anything.

And another thing (just to piss off the multi post nazi's

) - why is multiple posting frowned upon? What is the reasoning?

It's considered flooding according to the netiquette. As Finns would say: don't waste valuable words.
Also hello new person with an ouroboros avatar.

The Brits sent all the rude Irish people to Van Dieman's land and then the rudest of them ended up in Oz

We Irish are most refined *sniff*

In my limited experience I've come to see that unlike a blog, a thread is like a conversation, where there's turn-taking. Multiple posts fracture the conversation because the person trying to respond is only getting part of the other person's position. If double posting was blanketly allowed it could be used as a tactic to frustrate. You are currently using double posting in an obviously humourous way, but I'd be surprised if you double posted as part of a more serious conversation.
Double posting also boosts your post count and can be used as a way of touting a thread. (I'm sure the more experienced people here know a few more reasons why double posting is frowned upon.)

Might the answer be "because Null does it?"

The Sarge's activities are obvious to all, others are known to have conversations with themselves

Actually, it's mostly a problematic possibility on crowded forums, where posting every time you have an afterthought can end up with a 200-page thread instead of a 50-page thread, which could actually matter in terms of convenience. On a smaller forum it matters less. And moreover if it's not a general habit, only done occasionally - like with ice-cream - a cone or a few should do no harm, a dozen can matter.
By the way, IntuItOne, did we greet?

Eff, I can understand that. Obviously on this forum, it's not such an issue. Don't know about the post count thing - I mean, possibly on larger forums, but really, does anyone here give a flying fruitcake about their post count? Well, maybe one or two do,

but I don't think that's something that Watchers are too concerned about.

Post counts are just a side-effect of talking too much.
