Battle Circle was my first Anthony series. When I first saw the title to Sos the Rope, my copy was all in capital letters, and I thought it was pronounced S - O - S the Rope, like an emergency mayday call or something.

I liked certian aspects of Orn, and while I liked The Blue Adept (as u've heard me say on another thread) Anthony isn't really my cup o' tea...

Not my cup of tea anymore, either, Danlo. His best work is behind him. Way behind him.

Hey, at least Roland knows how to spell it. IIRC, you tried to spell it "Sauce the rope".

I agree. That's why I always read his stuff in the bathroom.

Well, 2 weeks later I am about 120 pages into the thing. It is written better then the first book, but there's still some situations that I wasn't fooled by, and am surprised the character being fooled was.

I plan to re read Doomfarers first, but I'm looking forward to the second book after all these years. It sounds as if you arent un happy with the sequel though.

I did finish Starfollowers, and I think it's an improvement over Doomfarers. Daley still suffered from "too many ideas" syndrome, but it is better that too few ideas. As these were his first 2 books, I guess it's to be expected. I may look for his later works to see how he matured.
