The best books I read last year had to be The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah, Lizzie Bright and the Buckminster Boy by Gary D. Schmidt (YA, but exquisite), Eternal by Bridget Allyson (my niece's first novel and an impressive sally), and my reread of Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.

Really looking forward to reading P&P deer, but like The Barchester Chronicles it always seems to be a book I'm getting around to....... but never quite reach. :).

P&P is a weekend read. It moves quickly and the slow-burn humor is great.

The live adaptions have always won me - particularly the Colin Firth, Jennifer Ehley one.

Seriously do Deer, Firth and Ehle have a chemistry and a symbiosis where their slightest nuances speak a thousand words.
