I know this is an old post but since this thread has been active recently, that actually makes a lot of sense, it explains how Kellanved can have "old guard" who seem to be young-to-middle-aged around the time of GotM. I mean, ya, there are alchemical rituals to prolong age in MBotF and I'm pretty sure the books say that some of the Empire's big names have used them, but I don't think Fiddler, Trotts, or Picker, for example, have used them. I think u guys are OK with double posting here...

Yes we are. And with necromancy too, although it doesn't count in this case.

And yes, the timelines really confused me before I found that...like how has he been emperor for 96 years...

(And also, Kellanved was totally lying when he specified that date...he was in his 20's at most.)
