I was going to argue with that, but it's actually pretty accurate. I have accepted that this is not the correct venue for that particular story. Perhaps it doesn't have a proper venue or target audience. Which is annoying, because it really wants to be written.

I am convinced that having a context to "write into" helps me tremendously.
I want to know what kind of minds are going to be receiving my work - not only do I need to share a common language with them - but also so that I have a sense which words have what resonances for readers.
Terribly concerned about being misunderstood.

So I think I do need to know the audience - to some extent - before I begin to say a thing.

It is a fearful thing to put a piece of writing out into the world.

I think it's one that may have appeared to involve a quellvisk skeleton? Or was it an earlier one?

Anyways, back to the topic.. one of my other favorite haunts is the "General Literature Discussion" subforum. Excuse to talk about books with other people who like 'em.

It was supposed to be a dragon/ouroboros, but yes. I suppose spoilers don't really matter much at this point, but it wasn't really a skeleton - it was the metal trackway for an advanced sort of railroad. There was probably way too much backstory to squeeze into the time limit anyway.

Linna and Sorus, thanks for pointing me towards the 2 minute thread, which lead me to the 15 minute thread. I've only read through a few pages of it so far, but I was really impressed by both of you. And inspired.

I've been unemployed for six months, thinking about working on a particular story, but too intimidated to try to tackle it. I used the 15 min thread twice, and now I am going pretty strong. It was a wonderful tool for letting me start something without feeling intimidated. Since, I've been collecting notes and constructing outlines Ready to dive in deep now

I like version 2.5.2

I like the original one too.

Yeah, I think that's my favourite as well. There's also a proposed map of Mordants Need somewhere, which is cool because no official map was ever published.
