Not according to the box office receipts. The production budget was $180 M and it has earned $215 M just in North America alone so far, a figure which does not include global ticket sales.

I finally got around to seeing this a couple of weeks ago via Delta Airlines LOL.
I loved it!!! Immigrant song being played while Thor does his God bit and puts the smack down on the baddie .... What more do you want?!!! Really well done.

Glad you enjoyed it Sky - I'm struggling to maintain my interest in superhero movies at present and was probably not seeing it through the 'right eyes'. Certainly I'm in a minority on this one!

Cheers Pete

Black Panther is starting to interest me! The reviews plus what people who've seen it have said to me are really positive; I've not even seen a trailer yet, but saw a few stills the other day that looked really good! Probably won't see it on big screen as it gets too expensive to keep going to the cinema - but I'll definitely watch it at home at the earliest opportunity.

Oh definitely see it Pete ... I hope you like it as much as I did .. but go prepared for a superhero movie .. so definitely fantasy fun.
I took hubby to see Dr Strange and he actually really loved it. I think he really likes Cumberpatch lol

.. bit of a bromance connection with great actors lol

To put it in context, untill about three weeks ago I didn't even know Black Panther was a Superhero character! I'm old enough to remember the notorious raised fist on the rostrum (was it at the Olympics?) and that - other than the big

- was about all the words meant to me. I'm interested as well in this idea I read of in a review, of a region in Africa uncolonized by outsider's where high level civilisation minus it's attendant (Western) problems had been achieved, and from whence the character arises. It's a great idea.
