Unicorns - as many youth are I was fascinated by the possible existence of a unicorn. I was convinced on some mysterious island was an actual unicorn.

X Rays - I was fooling around and fell down a hill. Boy there was so much pain as they had to hold my leg in place for an Xray! Ended up with a cast on my arm and walking cast on my leg (since my arm was injured they could not give me crutches)

Kites--I tried flying a lot of them when I was a kid. Sometimes I was successful, and sometimes I ended up getting the kite all torn up in tree branches.
