Mods can do quite alot if they take their jobs seriously Darth/Tuvor--ur comment prob indicates that u don't have much respect 4 mods--so perhaps that indicates u don't have respect for the position? :?

Judging on how hard FMT campaigns against me being a mod, I'd have to say that he does respect the position, even if he doesn't respect the personnel presently filling the position. Kind of like how you treat George W. I assume you still respect the presidency, though you're quite clearly unimpressed with our present one.

Why is it up to you to defend him? And what the hell does my view of politics have to do this?

He wrote:
LOL! Yeah! I post loads and yet am a mod... Mods don't do too much anyways...
I take xception to this. As a moderator himself he belittles the position with such a statement. There is, however, a difference btween mods who r here alot and those who r not...and those who let certian forums run wild.

Calm down. I'm sorry you don't understand what I'm trying to say here. I assure you it has nothing to do with politics. And please understand that I have never intentionally said that I think you or any other moderator should leave, stay, or do anything other than the fine job you guys presently do. If you show me that I have unintentionally done anything like that, then I will promptly edit my post.

dAN, it is not that people don't respect you. I know I respect you. I developed a lot of respect for you when you stood up for your beliefs in Zeph's earlier, wilder days. (And being someone who likes to give credit where it is due -- Zeph has been trying very hard to tone down more of his controversial views lately and if he sees this I want him to know how much I appreciate that. 8) )
It's just that there are people who have been here a year or more, like Dromond and Brinn and Damelon and Leper Fairy and many others, who are great people and great members who have not yet had a chance to be a mod. If you and Tom and some of the other newer people stick around a few more months I will be more than happy to push for all of you, too. 8)
And Tuvor, you already have many, many forums. That is why I have been trying to suggest other people who are not already mods for most of these openings. I would like to see some senior members, in particular, who have not had a chance to be a mod yet get a chance.

Uhhh, other than that part where you make me wonder if there are other people here who do not respect me, thanks for the kind words! Anyway, it was an offer, not a demand, so you don't need to worry if you pick somebody else to mod. Besides, Jay already said I could mod the Chat Room! Woohoo!!

Sorry - I misunderstood something you had said a couple of posts up. :? but I do respect you, and as far as I know, so does everyone else. And I am glad Jay is giving you a chance to be a mod, since it seems that you would really like one. I think you will try hard. 8)

Yeah, I do. The first thing I did as mod was ban myself from the Chat Room. After only 23 hours with no me, spamming is reportedly down 37%!

After years of thinking I had mastered self-deprecating sarcasm, I must simply bow to a much greater talent in that area, :Hail: dANdeLION, :Hail: indeed.

I will say this; I am a huge fan of Asimov, Herbert, Sturgeon, Ellison, Clarke, Burroughs and Heinlein. So, I am not without knowledge in the realm of sci-fi. I don't read a lot of the newer guys, probably because my kids prefer I read Seuss nowadays.

I have to agree that dAN would be an excellent mod. He's very dedicated and organized with most everything he takes seriously and I don't think he would be in the least bit squeamish about laying down the law to those who might step over the lines of acceptable decorum. Just my 14 cents worth. :-)

By the way, whenver you guys finally create the Star Trek forum don't forget old TOM C for mod duties. :-)

Jay, you should make me mod of the entire universe, right now. We simply cannot afford to let lesser people do it. It must be me. We cannot allow this to be done by clique loving sheep. It must be me.
