Luckily I've been able to isolate myself pretty well at work this past year. Worked a later shift so I don't come in contact with too many people.

Most of my friends and family haven't gotten it, that they know anyway.

I don't know how it is in different states but in Mass pharmacies have priority over hospitals to give the vaccine out.
I think CVS has a contract that the state has to follow.
So hospitals and doctors office aren't getting any more vaccines.
It's all pharmacies and state distribution centers.

My wife and I each got a vaccine yesterday.
Technically (according to the criteria, despite her having issues and I'm a Type 1 diabetic) we shouldn't have been able to until mid-March.

But here's a tip.
They schedule the number of shots they will give per day and take that number of vaccines out of the freezer and they can't refreeze any.
So if anyone cancels their appointment they have extra at the end of the vaccination time for that day and have to use it or lose it.
If the vaccine schedule at the pharmacy ends at 5PM get there at 4:30 and ask if they have extra.
It's very possible that they will take care of you.

I suppose you could also call but calling a CVS pharmacy is an ordeal and it's usually not a pharmacist in the store that is keeping track of the vaccine process.

Obviously your result will vary.

Thanks High Lord Tolkien. My Dad is doing well. I talked to him recently a couple days ago and he is in good spirits. His church group and others have still been providing him some food. So glad to know he is getting a decent meal every so often since my Mom was the primary cook. (Mom I miss your fresh baked bread and crescent rolls)

Although my Dad did admit he is starting to lose a little drop of his mental acuity. He, for the first time in his life, is going to trust his taxes to a tax professional. But the man is 87 so we are lucky that so far he is still at higher levels of mental stamina.

My coworker is out two weeks with Covid. I only work with on Wednesdays. So my exposure was pre-virus it seems.

One inmate on Central dorm was exposed so they are shut down for two weeks.

Julie got her second shot today. I get my second shot Friday.

Not much happening on the vaccination front here, 67k healthcare workers have received one so far, and the 2nd stage is meant to begin in April (Elderly, co-morbidities, etc.) Nobody knows when the average person is going to start getting them.

A bit late to this thread. Since I am a bit of a homebody anyway, working remote and staying away from people has not been stressful. I did miss going to craft breweries for a while but much of that has opened since then.

My experience has not been all that bad. I believe I and my wife had Covid in March 2020 but it was before there was any testing and we both got over it without any lasting impact. We both went to the Dr., they tested us for everything but found nothing they could put their finger on. We got inhalers, steroids, etc etc. We both work for an international Italian company where travel was happening until the lockdown so very possible. We both have always had a rule about being sick and not going to work and infecting others so we both were out for a few weeks prior to the company sending everyone home to be remote.

In April 2020 (dont remember whate date) at the end of the day, the company told us that we were all working remote until they said different. We figured a few weeks at most. For the most part here it is a year later and the building is still very empty.

I continued to work remote eventually my two associates were furloughed and I became a team of 1 who worked long hours to keep up. A few months later they had me release one of my team that had been there for 30 years. That was in June 2020.

My Brother in law got covid and after testing positive, we all got tested that had any contact with him. All of us tested negative. He was pretty sick but never ended up hospitalized and recovered with no lasting impact.

About Sept of 2020 I started working from the office 3 to 4 days a week. That continued through the end of the year and really except for a week here or there has continued through now. At this time the company is saying keep up the same until end of June at the very least.

My wife and I are blessed to have continued to work though the whole shebang and we are both considering retiring in the not to distant future. Maybe a year.

Vaccines. Much of my family up here is now vaccinated. My wife and I are choosing not to do so at this time.

A friend of ours just died from Covid. She was 44. She leaves behind her husband and a young son. I've worked with her husband for the last ten years.

Hate to hear that Sarge. Losing close friends is as hard (or harder sometimes) than losing family.

That is heartbreaking as is your personal experience with COVID sammy I’m so sorry to read of your mum’s passing. Please accept my sincere heartfelt condolences to you and your family.
