Thank you everyone for your well wishes.
I don't have good news.
Dan's brother Dion went to see Dan a week ago.
He was so disheartened by his visit that he won't go into much detail but he did say that Dan is in very bad condition and that Dan reminds him of their father just before he passed.
I am afraid that I may not get the chance to see Dan.
This is pretty much the worst news.
I know I have to accept the inevitable but it's incredibly hard.
Dan has been my best friend for 50 years.

I may not post or even come around these parts too much anymore, but I remember you all, including Dan, and I am saddened to hear about this.
Alzheimers is cruel and I can only offer my sympathies.

I'll see what I can do. Busy with the partner, dogs and university these days.
But I don't want to derail the thread, so I hope that dAN is as comfortable as he can be and that those close to him get the opportunity to make their peace.

Hey guys. A brief update about Dan. His brother visited him and said he had the best time in quite a while. Dan was very responsive and he and his brother Dion joked around for a short time which is great to hear.
Dion sent me a picture from the visit. I posted it in the Motley Crew.

Dan looks older but happy in the photo and I am glad to know he is coping with his situation.

I still haven't been able to see him yet but I am hoping to tag along with Dion on his next visit.

They are. Kibbitzing is chatting, in the sense I used it.
Canoodling is very different.
