I knew I'd better not say anything personal!

Carradine can play other instruments. What would you like it played on, Cheval?

Fist and Faith wrote:"I seek water."

"What the hell's the matter with you, Chinaman?!? You're on an island!! There's water everywhere!"
If you drank saltwater, you'd die of dehydration.

Hey, I know about this thread, and was inspired enough to order Disc 1 of Season 1 from Netflix. I've watched the pilot and man it's as good as I remember from years ago.

A question to venerable Master Fist (but anyone can answer): Do you remember the Marvel comic character Iron Fist? Do you remember the scar of the dragon on his chest? Which came first - Caine burning the dragon and tiger on his forearms, or Iron Fist burning the dragon on his chest?

As it happens, I'm a veritable encyclopedia on Daniel Thomas Rand, aka Iron Fist. I can tell you all the MAJOR blunders the writers made on him over the years, and what his history and continuity should be.

The first appearance of Iron Fist was Marvel Premiere #15, in 1974. The Kung Fu pilot was in 1972. However, afaik, the Shaolin monks actually did that! 8O

I used to love the old Iron Fist comics, even the ones with Power Man (wow, what an original name that was.) Somehow, I knew you'd be the right person to ask that question to. ;)

Remember also the DC character Karate Kid? Who would win in a fight, him or Iron Fist?

Aren't they considering an IRON FIST movie?

I preferred Shang-Chi, Master of Kung Fu.

Oh, and Luke Cage, Hero For Hire.

Oops, sorry dlb. I never got back to this. Alas, Karate Kid would win. He was a master of Super Karate, not just any old martial art. "Super" Karate!!

PoL, in some ways, I prefer Shang also. Certainly more philosophical. He actually mentioned the tao a couple times. heh :D And I think he was probably a hair better. And Cat was pretty awesome too, eh? Did you see the short-lived Heroes For Hire series from a few years ago? Written by John Ostrander. They were all in there. Actually, Iron Fist beat Cat, iirc. Not that I think he should have, and Shen was really acting strange.

Now Cat going after Spiderman was cool. Not that he had a chance, but Spidey was very impressed.

My son is very interested in marshal arts (due to NARUTO) So I told him just recently about KungFu and the bit about the rice paper...

Karate Kid was young though, Iron Fist has the experience edge, and the fist that becomes like a thing unto iron or however it goes.

Now this is a series I strongly suspect has aged well.
I need to see if the library has it, as Beorn has never seen it. I think it's time.

Well, I thought this would be interesting, but it did degenerate into a goofy thread...
