Saltheart Foamfollower sings -
Stone and Sea are deep in life,
Two unalterable symbols of the world...
- taking Covenant to Revelstone.
I can't see why the Giants would lose there craftsmanship with stone. But I do see what you mean by the right sort of granite for 'wiving'. I can't recall Saltheart using anything made from stone.
Maybe I daydream my way through the chronicles too much. I've always believed that Revelstone is the Home that the Giants lost.
Starfares Gem and Loric's Krill, for instance, are like 'Two unalterable symbols of the world'.
Why did the Giants need to summon the Nicor, anyway?
I seem to remember something about Linden Avery becoming depressed, which spread through the ship like a contagion, even infecting the weather.
There's are great line Foamfollower speaks while travelling the Soulsease River with Covenant -
'Praise the Creator! Old Damelon Giantfriend knew the value of a good laugh.'
