Yeah! It would be great to see TC sprinkle Starfare's Gem with Hurtloam, and then fly the ship back to his own world so he could chase those bozo's into the nearest dumpster....

How about Elvis instead of Elves? He could sing "Hunka hunka burning Woodhelvin"

Or he could sing his little-known hits "Heartthrall Hotel" and "Revelstone Rock"

K, this thread's a little old, but I got a good laugh out of it (hehehe...Revelstone Rock...), so I thought I'd revive it before it's too long dead *grin*
I probably wouldn't change anything, either...in the broad scheme of it, everything has its place, even stuff that is slightly unpleasant...I might have left out any dying horses and Ranyhyn, but that's because a) I hate to think of my own horse dying, and b) I'm not an amazing author like SRD and I don't really know what I'm doing like he does *grin*
A friend and I were talking about this sort of thing, recently, and he said: "there were times when I was going 'uggghhh, what the heck was that for??!' But I kept reminding myself: 'Donaldson knows what he's doing, just trust the author'....and my trust was always rewarded, so to speak."
Basically, that's what I think, too....just trust Mr. Donaldson...he knows what he's doing...and remember, he had plans for the Last Chronicles while writing the Second Chronicles...so anything that seems like a loose end will probably be fixed right into the next part *smile*

Lord Foul is utterly stupid as a name, but Kevin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What on Earth? Tis the biggest ned name out there. Like calling him Jebediah or Trevor or something. Chronic. Makes Lord Foul look innovative!

Still..."Kevin's Watch" sounds a helluva lot better than "Jebediah's Watch" would

Just be thankful SRD didn't choose to name Kevin something like "Rolex" or "Swatch" instead.

What a stunningly apt quote for the Donaldson mythos, in which the greatest danger to all manner of beings is becoming what they hate in the act of trying to fight it.
Too bad Korik didn't heed Nietzsche's caution.

True, true. I find the quote interesting in general, but that is a point of view that I had thought about when I changed my sig.
Doesn't Mhoram also say to Covenant at one point, "It is Lord Foul's way in all things to force his enemies to become what they most hate, and destroy that which they most love"?

I cant imagine any changes that would truly better what is ..
Donaldson's themes withstand the most surgical scrutiny
also likes that Nietzsche quote
