But that implant got imposed on her in the first place. But if you get a bunch of them and you rule them; I think it would be ok.

Yeah. Morn's addiction was accelerated from stress and overuse, but I think the addiction would be universal for anyone. Once the brain gets used to having a higher level of endorphins they need that same level.

ahhhhhh.... I comprehend you now

My bad Byrn. I see your point... to be honest... I still wouldn't mind... I'd like it... as long as no-one but me could access the controls.

I always interpreted Morn's addiction as stemming from her continued over-use of the implant. She was continually pushing her body beyond its limits wihtout giving herself time to recover, causing her to become more dependent on the implant in turn.
Angus would probably be experiencing the same thing, but wouldn't be as aware of it. I expect standard UMCP procedure would be to send a cyborg on a mission, then give them a few weeks of rest afterwards.

Hmmm... I wonder if they made Cyborgs often...

well, they had the special terminology ready (wedding vs. welding) so I expect it was not a novelty at least

If I had zone implants I'd probably use them - you know keep me up 24hrs a day to help me study.

those crazy kids today are snorting Ritalin to do the same thing. For a second, I was almost going to ask if be wedded/welded would be better than just being a chemical addict.
Then Iremembered that they're actually the same thing--at least in Morn's case, who didn't have the bonus datacore. My impressions was that the wakey-wakeys on a zone implant are a lot like being on crank (or at least what I've heard being on crank is like)--lots of energy, you can stay awake, get tons of stuff done, and then the imaginary bugs start crawling inside your skin (much like the nasty cockaroach zombies in AMOHD).
I'llskip the wedding, zone implants, etc, and just stick with the caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol. Oh, and nutrasweet. i Looooove nutrasweet.

...but doesn't Nutrasweet effect your nervous system?

Oh, crap, you're right.
I think it gives you Alzheimer's.
If only I could remember where I heard that......
Of course, all the other stuff I mentioned affects the nervous system as well. But it's all legal. At least at the moment.
Uhm, back to getting wedded.....
Nope. Not for me.

It does indeed. Ironic that it was the Regan administration that forced the FDA to approve it. Maybe he sipped a few too many diet cokes for promotional pictures.

Excellent point. Of course, when it comes to Reagan's own zone implants, there's also this delectable historical tidbit...

Hmm...I think it comes down to exactly what I would be wedded to and how much of a different person I would be.
If I chose cybernetic enhancement of any sort it would be something for more practical purposes such as making my eyesight 20/20.
I think that's about it, really.

<tsk> Darth, why does that not surprise me?? I guess if I were going to be wedded, I'd get a titanium-alloy steel plate implanted in my head, just in case you ever came around.
<Darth kicks Myste in the head> CLANG! <Myste runs away giggling madly>
