Sure. It's more of a question of 'consistently good.' They've played in just about every style you can think of. I'd recommend picking up Quebec to see if you like them.

These are the groups I'm familiar with. I don't have cds by all of them, but I've at least heard their music and pretty much like them all (or at least don't hate them.)

NIN, Pearl Jam, and A Perfect Circle stand out for me.

Now that I have a fast connection and finally got a new computer I'm going to spend some time playing around with limewire and check out some of the other bands.

Syl seems to have pretty cool tastes in music and books, so I figure it's worth my time to at least download some of the other bands. See what they're all about.

Speaking of fun and potential, I recommend a band called The Answer. They're a British band, but they sound like a hybrid of Young Heart Attack and Guns n Roses. Good stuff. For downloading purposes, I'd suggest Come Follow Me or Never Too Late.

Variety's overrated. Seriously, there's a lot of variety there, just not much outside of rock. What can I say? I hate pop, r&b, modern country, and most rap.

Seriously, of the ones i knew, good list and i love al in chains too. pearl jam though? granted i haven't heard their new album, but i know when it came out (about the same time as TooL's 10,000 Days), PJ was on SNL and it sounded just like the stuff they did in the 90s. but, maybe it isn't fair of me to make that judgement based on one song.
