I gave my husband a white gold ring too! He's probably the only SRD fan in history to have read the Second Chronicles and not the First.
[Oh, I should explain--my KW name is fictitious twice over; I'm a female flatlander in RL.]

man- I have to agree SRD had gotten some LAME covers...
actually, I hate to say this but the cover of WWW chosen as the banner for this wonderful site was actually one I hated...it looks like, after they save the Land, (or get done modeling bathrobes for JC Penney) he is going to take her to a Van Halen concert in his TransAm.
(Just kidding, I love KW !!!!!

I always get irritated when the cover art tries to show what the characters look like--they never get it quite right, and it gets dated so quickly. I mean, has anyone read the original paperbacks of the Riddle-Master trilogy by Patricia McKillip? It's got what looks like Arnold Schwarzenegger on the cover, and it's supposed to be about a twenty-something type! I definitely prefer more stylized covers for fantasy/sci-fi novels. The new Chrons covers would be great if the rings were actually white gold and the background colors weren't seafoam-green.

After first reading the series when I was young and at the time not very smart, I ran out and bought a second set of books ( First smart act of my life !!) I still have that set unopened but would walk the long mile for a new release of Hardbound versions.
One can dream.

I doubt they will ever be released in HC again. Unless the SFBC comes up with some special editions to mark the publication of Runes.
