While it is fun, with a crafty author like Rowling at the helm, it is useless to specualte on what the meaning of the title is. It would more obvious of course if the title were something like.."Harry Potter and the Tower of Smoked Cheese", but it is not.

Sounds good to me
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince could mean "Harry Potter and the Washed-Up Old 80s Singer Who Is Mysteriously Now Made Partially Of Red Bodily Fluids"

Maybe Rowling is talking about Voldemort, he is a half-blood.

Nah, it wouldn't be named after him.

According to her website, JKrowling.com, the title does NOT refer to Voldemort. She has said that herself, in fact, she was appalled that people were even thinking that it meant Voldie.
I lean toward Neville, only because of the prophecy. But, Rowling is always full of surprises, so it could be someone we haven't met yet. (and most likely is.) I love trying to guess tho. I remember when the title for "Order of the Phoenix" was released. We were all trying to figure out what this "order" was.

Neville is Pure Blood. That is a fact. So it can't be about him.

I bet Harry is going to be pissed that some prince is stealing his spotlight.

Nah, I don't think he's like that. And we all know Harry will have the spotlight anyways.

I think Harry would just LOVE to had over the spotlight to someone else.
And Darth, Harry is considered a "pure blood" because both his parents were "magical", but his mother was muggle-born. We don't know for a fact that everyone in Neville's background wasn't muggle born or a half blood. Hagrid even said that a true "pure blood" is very very rare.
"Most wizards now are half blood or less..."
Also, Seamus is a half blood...just thought I would throw that out in the mix of things

No he isn't. Muggle borns (Like his mother) Are not considered proper witches... (by people like Voltemort anyways) So he's a half-blood. Because only one side of his family is pure-blood as you can get.

But both his parents were magical.

Trust me, Pure-Blood are considered those of only Pure-Blood Parents! Lily wasn't that.

My understanding is contrary to this. Harry isn't considered a half-blood... I am open to being proven wrong, however.

I think if Malfoy could have made something disgraceful of Harry's lineage, he would have.
