Perhaps thankfully, the allusion escapes me as I've never had the questionable benefit of being exposed to the show.
But I must say that on some, almost subliminal level, this thread is starting to disturb me a bit. Perhaps it's simply that I don't like the idea of internal strife? Or any strife at all for that matter, but I no longer know what to think about this topic.

Life is strife. If you don't like it, well, there's really nothing that any of us can do, so not liking it is just gonna cause more strife, therefore I advise that you learn to at least accept the existence of it.

Gilligan's on the left. He's first mate of the SS Minnow. Skipper's on the right. He's the Skipper.
Skipper yells things like "GILL-I-GAAAAAN!!!!!" and then beats him when Gilligan does something silly, which is every episode.
I always liked Gilligan. And felt sorry for the Skipper.

Can you believe they're actually doing a reality TV show on Gilligan's Island? Incidentally, it's called "The Real Gilligan's Island"...I might actually watch this one *grin*
