My vote is for:

James Horner

Basil Poledouris

David Shire

Dennis McCarthy

Alan Silvestri

The only problem with James Horner is that he would have to consciously stay away from any "Krull" similarities (a good ST BTW, a LOT better than the movie).

This is a little wacky, but I don't think your classical, hollywood standard score is right for chronicles. We need something that can give the feeling that the land imparts on the people inside of it. We cannot easily do this in film. I think the score is a good way to impart this.

I think that Mike Oldfield would be prefect to create the sound of the Land.

I've always thought Deep Purple's Son of Aleric (a 10+ minute soaring instrumental piece) would lend itself well to the soundtrack...

Though if I had to choose a single composer, my vote would be for Basil Poledouris.
