THIS is well true! It took me 25 years to find a clean copy of my father's boyhood favorite,
The Hidden Treasure of Glaston to replace the one in which I not-so-artfully "colored" the illustrations when I was five. The guilt has been tremendous! Thank goodness for library sales!

hey everyone!
The baby is pure joy!!!!! He has slept through the night twice already and so I am feeling pretty good

Danlo has gotten the majority of the poopy diapers

But he is such a great daddy most of the time

with the exception of last night he was busy with school work and tried to ignore us. Too bad Izaac wouldn't let him and neither would I! He's crying right now so I am off. Thanks for all the wonderful thoughts!

Apparently there is about 100 or spellings for the name.

Now that you mention it, I have a bunch of kids' clothes (my husband never let me throw out any of them

). If you let me know sizes, I could send you some.

I sing this to my babies, and I thought I would post the lyrics because it's such a beautiful lullaby song. It was originally in the Disney movie Dumbo. But, I love Bette Midler's version of it from "Beaches"
To Danlo, Tam and sweet babies Izaac and Adrien...
"Baby Mine"--Bette Midler from the motion picture soundtrack "Beaches"
Baby mine, don't you cry.
Baby mine, dry your eyes.
Rest your head close to my heart,
never to part, baby of mine.
Little one, when you play,
pay no heed what they say.
Let your eyes sparkle and shine,
never a tear, baby of mine.
If they knew all about you,
they'd end up loving you, too.
All those same people who scold you,
what they'd give just for the right to hold you.
From your hair down to your toes,
you're not much, goodness knows.
But, you're so precious to me,
sweet as can be, baby of mine.
Love and joy to all of you!!

Congratulations Danlo and Tam!! They sound wonderful!
Autumn told me about them last weekend, she said they're absolutely precious. I can't wait to see pictures....
*THREAD HIJACKED*
Autumn, you say? Who's Autumn? She's a very close friend of mine, who recently moved to Albuquerque for a job opportunity she couldn't pass up. She's only 25, and was moving into a new state where she didn't know anyone, and had nothing but this job. I was worried about her being all alone there, with no one to fall back on in case of emergency, or homesickness, or an intense craving for cookies. So I got in touch with danlo, and asked him if he and his lovely Lady would consider taking a complete stranger under their wing for a bit until she found her footing. And of course being the wonderful people they are, they said "Of course, what's her number?"
She came back for a visit last weekend, saying she goes to their house every weekend now, and the kids are adorable, and raving about Tam's cooking, which is the only home cookin' she gets (and which we EFer's can attest, is truly fabulous.) Thanks to them, she's adjusting to her new life nicely, and is not nearly as depressed as she was at first.
So I wanted to embarass them by publicly saying thank you. And letting anyone who doesn't know it already what wonderful people danlo and Tam really are. Thank you guys for taking care of my friend. Your children are so very lucky to have such open, caring people as parents, and I wish your new family all the joy in the world.
*we now return you to your reglarly scheduled thread*
