The Illearth War. I loved seeing the power of the Forestal against the Raver's army.

Y'know, I never thought about that.

I love them all, but TWL always gets my vote.

After enjoying what TC accomplishes at the end of the first series...I don't even remember what I expected or hoped from the second.

I just remember being blown away, crying like a man seldoms does from a work of fiction...the Land is wounded and dying from some incredible concoction of Foul's that only seems to get worse as we learn more...

Astounding.

The Illearth War for me...
Spoiler
I just love the downward slope of that one... it's the only one that seems to start on a positive note... we've got big war hero Hile Troy ready to do battle in a new and creative way against the hordes of evil... we've got all this potential with Elena mastering the staff of Law, and Amok leading them to new power... and then *BAM*
Troy and Elena both turn out to be nuts, the whole thing goes down the drain into a giant explosion of despair. Ending in total tragedy, except for the consolation prize of a dead horde, and a dead raver.

Gotta love that
Edit: Egads! Sorry... I almost never post in actual TCTC forums, never thought about the spoiler :(

I also love the rupture of Melenkurion Skyweir. I had no idea what the consequences of that might be.

Now I think about it, I don't remember if there were any consequences to pouring loads of chill water on the Land...

It's a tough one. I hovered between Lord Foul's Bane, The One Tree, White Gold Weilder, and Runes of the Earth. I finally went with Runes. My decision is based on the story, the language and the overall enjoyment of the read. I am finding myself enjoying reading about Linden more than TC. I'm about 40 pages away from finishing Runes, so I will let you knwo if my opinion changes by then...

Do we really need spoiler tags in this thread, though? I would think that if the topic question is which Covenant book is your favorite, then it can be safely assumed that those who reply to this question have already read the books. Runes would be the exception, since it's the newest book. Anway, personally I don't have a problem with JemCheeta spilling the beans on TIW.

:LOLS: Sorry guys, that was a joke. I was quoting Murrin's av. I expect anyone in this forum to have read at least the First Chrons. If not, well, they shouldn't be reading people's reasons for liking a particular book, eh? :)

The Wounded Land because of the pain it brought, but now Runes because of the Beauty of the telling.
