I can't say this is my favorite movie of all time, but it is definitely the one I would be happy to be stranded on a deserted island with: Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead. So much packed into each and every line of that movie that every time I watch it, I see more and more in it. Pure flipping genius, but not a lot of emotion in there.

So, maybe Fisher King.

I agree about R&GaD... I think the teaming of Tim Roth and Gary Oldman is the best since .... well, dang, you would have to go back pretty darn far!... They are so good togther!

And Fisher King is no slouch either. Great odd-couple teaming of Jeff Bridges and Robin Williams. The emotion is so raw and real in this movie.. kinda a surprise from Gilliam....

Holy cow, two people here who actually liked The Fisher King! :P

Personally, I found that movie an excruciating experience. Nearly walked out on it.

Loved Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead, though. :D

I was gonna say Stargate or Pirates of the Caribbean, but thanks for reminding me what an absolute trip R&GaD is. That's the one I vote for.

I think it has plenty of emotion, though. You're talking about Hamlet from the point of view of two often-invisible plot devices, and there's a great deal to explore there. Having read the play as well, I may, of course, be biased.

There are so many great movies. But not all of those could I watch over and over again.

Ya'll are gonna tear me up for this one...

The one movie that I will always change the channel to peek in on, and I do mean always, is The Waterboy.

Yep, The Waterboy.

Being born & raised right down the road from South Central Louisiana State University, I can't help but feel emotionally attached to this movie.[/url]

So sue me. I have a thing for mediocre sci-fi. :P

Dark Crystal. Grease and Wizard of Oz are two others that I never get tired of.

Seven Samurai.

No question about it.

Excalibur is the closest second.

For a movie that I can watch repeatedly... I'd go with 'The Fifth Element'.

Azeezh LIGHT!

For best movie in overall quality... I'd go with some cliche like 'Casablanca', for sci-fi either 'Dark City' or 'Blade Runner', and I really liked 'The Girl on the Bridge'.

When I watched that one for the first time, I was blown away at how far ahead of it's time some of the framing and cinematography was. Especially near the end of the movie, as the camera looks through sequential window frames... there are a lot of other wow moments, but that one was the one I was most impressed with.
