Existentialism emphasizes human capability. There is no greater power interfering with life and thus it is up to us to make things happen. Sometimes considered a negative and depressing world view, your optimism towards human accomplishment is immense. Mankind is condemned to be free and must accept the responsibility.

It scares me that I'm so much of a Romanticist, but I guess I can see it. I always thought I was very much the Idealist.

Just a hunch, really, Plissken, stemming from my belief that all the possibilities of the universe come into being through a single point (just a recurring image, gut feeling, when I used to go swimming in my head for enlightenment). Further reinforced by articles like these...

"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

..Anybody ever take the Birkman Assessments? Fascinating stuff. Not only nails what kind of being one is( needs and wants) when everything is going ones way,,but accurately describes what one becomes when things start Not going ones way. A lot more to it than that , and currently the big hoohaa of corporate for everybody to take eventually. Very good stuff to know about oneself as well as teamates when putting together a team to tackle major projects.....MEL

Result of Quiz :: What is Your World View?
You scored as Cultural Creative.
Cultural Creatives are probably the newest group to enter this realm. You are a modern thinker who tends to shy away from organized religion but still feels as if there is something greater than ourselves. You are very spiritual, even if you are not religious. Life has a meaning outside of the rational.

According to that one I am 100% secular humanist, which makes sense. It is certainly a more thorough quiz. Most of the comments on the site about it would tally with that.
The reality is in this head. Mine. I'm the projector at the planetarium, all the closed little universe visible in the circle of that stage is coming out of my mouth, eyes, and sometimes other orifices also.

Taking the Belief-o-matic again (can't remember my old results) gave me the top ten results:
But I don't feel that one test is superior - the Belief-o-matic tells you your religion, but the world-view test classifies the way you perceive the universe (as in, how you think it all works).1. Nontheist (100%)

I had to go to a stress management class (it's a command wide thing, not just me). They had a dumbed-down version of the Kiersey temperament sorter.

How can you possibly score so high in both 'Nontheist' and 'Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants'?
You must be very confused.
