Pancakes are great. American waffles seem to be cholesterol on a plate and very very sickly-can only ever eat half of one. UK waffles are minging! Long live the pancake with lemon and sugar.

THESE are hash browns: Image

And what's that square thing on your waffle Cho? It looks like some kind of margarine... Looking at it makes me feel rather ill.

Um... no. That's a griddle pancake.

Nothing remotely like an actual waffle - which is made from potatos, not pancake batter.

Careful, if we start a flame war about waffles some are going to be burned.

And I hate burned waffles!

hehehehe

Those look like potato wedges to me. A cousin to the hash brown.

The square thing is a pat of lovely butter.

Those eggs look faintly obscene to me.....

Can't really say why.

hehehehe

potato wedges are wedge shaped, and made from non-shredded potato:

By the way, whilst searching for a potato wedges picture I came across an amusing recipe: Wheat free potato wedges. Work that one out.

Bah, just accept that people have different names for things, people. Personally, I find it rather stuffy and arrogant to go around proclaiming Label A is the "one true", objective label, as if none of this stuff is subjective to where you're at/your location. Behold, Label A! Label B is not viable!

It's a relative thing. I mean, you may be right in Britain, but in America you'd be wrong--and vice versa. Here, in the South, the almighty hashbrowns can come in all sorts of fun shapes and sizes. At the Waffle House/diner around here, they look like what Cho showed; at McDonalds, hashbrowns come in the wedge shape. Can't we all just get along?

Anyway: I think I like pancakes more--unless my grandmother makes homemade waffles, that is. Then I'll eat about three or four. Heh. Good thing I’m a constant jogger. Ah, cheating death is fun.

Sorry, been on the edge lately. Family trouble. I'm also a sociology buff (or like to think I am), so I get all objective about crap. Mmmm, syrup.

Blueberry pancakes are awesome, though. I do enjoy blueberry syrup, too. Do you see a pattern forming?!

((((Lord Foul))))

Quite alright. No offense taken.

*passes lovely blue berry pancake with blue berry syrup and a bowl of fresh blueberries to LF*

Just sit a plate of either in front of me and they are not long for this world.I would just be damn happy to have some pancakes or waffles.

Here's an Idea... You know those boxed cake mixes? Instead of pancake batter, use cake batter on the waffle iron. Very, very, very good.

LF, I make a lovely blueberry & cream cheese cake. Cake stuff, blueberry pie filling, and a lot of cream cheese, mix, bake, eat.

Hmm... Wonder what would happen if one put instant mashed potatos on the waffle iron...? *feels supremely evil*
