Forgot about them!
I'll add them to the poll for you!
I threw in the sea wives, too. I realize that they're probably not human, BUT they must be humanoid if they want human men to mate with, and there's no room left in the other poll.
(the polls only offer ten options).

There's a lot of folks here who disagree with my theories on the
Haruchai. You'll have to get in line.
KaosArcana wrote:I don't think any person of the Land could have duplicated the Haruchai's gifts... I think that's like saying a regular horse could have duplicated the Ranyhn's gifts if it just had a Ranyhn's mindset.
I'll go along with that. Consciousness and the ability to choose are the key. A horse acts according to its nature. It can't behave other than it does. But the Ranyhyn
can behave otherwise, yet they
choose to act as they do. Unlike my world, the decision to be true is rewarded in the Land.
KaosArcana wrote:The Haruchai were a different breed than a regular Land person.
Therefore, I disagree. Yes, my theory is based on my desire to have purity, discipline, and truth rewarded. I know it's not supported by anything SRD wrote, but neither is it contradicted. And so I'm free to hold on to my hope. In comic books, Shang Chi and Iron Fist are two
superb martial artists. Shang grew up in an ideal atmosphere, wanting to become the best he could, partly out of his love for his father. (He later learned that his love was badly misplaced.) Fist wanted to learn so that he could avenge the murders of his parents. When asked who the best martial artist in that world is, I say Shang, because I think more highly of his motivation. Again, it doesn't work like that in my world, but it would be nice if such things were rewarded
somewhere.

Always tough to know what to believe. We get some important information from these legends, and even from the Ravers! Reliable? When touched by
samadhi, Mhoram learned that their "knowledge" of the Colossus, which came from such legends, was wrong.

Hmm, I went with Haruchai, even though I probably felt more empathy with the Ramen. I think the almost superhuman abilities of the Haruchai have swung it for me, as a martial artist I'd just love to be able to fight as effectively as they do.

Ramen/Haruchai...not likely but DAMN that would be cool! Fighting skills of the Haruchai, hunting and survival skills of the Ramen, Haruchai moves w/ that leet-ass garrote cord thing...JMHO

Yeah, I'm with you there Damelon. I liked the story and the people, they seemed so exotic, separate and oh yes - free loving! And just a click away from some gifts from the Elohim (if I were so lucky)
While the Haruchai abilities were truly incredible, I could never want to be in such bondage as there were. No sleep, no women, no aging, no smiling?I'll take one as servant any day though.

Gotta be Haruchai, I would love to never get tired and be able to kick ass in a fist fight.
Oh yeah, forgot they didn't get any women. Duh. Guess it would have to be Bhrathrair (sp?)

You shouldn't put Haruchai up there. They are just to damn cool. Just imagining what they fight like gives me the chills. Are there any mounted unarmed forms of combat in the real world? I would like to know what it looks like. In the unlikely even of a Chrons movie, seeing 50 mounted Ju-jitsu warriors hurling themselves at an ur-vile wedge makes me shiver. "we suffice" What hardcore Bada$$es.
Although, using a piece of rope as a primary weapon is almost as cool. Something to think on at least.

I went for Woohelvennin. What can I say? I'm just a big-ol-tree hugger. Plus I look good in green.
