No, they need to do their freaking job, make money, and pay the bills. Sheesh; if I ever come to work and find out a bunch of geeks on the internet now want me to 'move into an elder statesmen role'; I will personally hunt them down, kick their ass, and steal ytheir young, hottie girlfriend. Other than that, I completely agree with you.

Disagree, fiercely.
Rene Russo?
I've got 3 words for you: Thomas Crown Affair.
Considering she was 40 at the time (if I recall correctly), she was smoking.

Well, I don't totally disagree with the good doctor on this one, but, just in case, I'd like to run a test, just to make sure dlbpharmd still has a pulse.
Well doc, do you?

You noticed the pool cue and not the woman? Are we to infer something Freudian from that?

Woman? What woman?
<scrolls up and has 2nd look>
Oh, yeah - she's OK.
But on 2nd glance I don't think that's a custum pool cue. Looks like a pool room cheapie.

I just found this thread! So, I would like to
1) Officially crack up over the last few posts,
and 2) agree that LA Confidential may have been the best film of the '90s. That's the first time Russell Crowe was robbed of an Oscar. It deserved most of those awards Titanic won. An all-time winner in the category of book-to-screenplay writing.

Yeah, I kind of feel like Crowe got DOUBLE gypped in 07, his performance in 3:10 to Yuma and American Gangster were superb. Those other movies? Meh. 2007 was an unbelievable year in film, but you wouldn't know it from the award season.
LA Confidential is a modern classic. Easily one of the best of the decade. (Right up there with Pulp Fiction, 12 Monkeys, Apollo 13)

Yes, LA Confidential is one of my favorite movies. Crowe was excellent in it.
