I'm a big fan of Tolkien too.
Originally, I was simply Lord Tolkien.
Then I lost my password and changed emails reinstalled Windows and lost the Watch link.
When I finally came back I had forgotten my password so I moved up to High Lord Tolkien.
My first avatar pic was a drawing of Gandalf with Tolkien's face photoshopped in.
It looked great but when the avatar was reduced for the site no one could see Tolkien!

The image of Tolkien as a Lord, smoking a pipe under a Gilden tree in Andelain, surrounded by Wraiths and talking to a Waynhim about their Weird.....seems......nice to me.

Menolly...

Considering I have been a vocalist since childhood, and an ardent fan of the Pern novels by Ann McCaffrey, she is the character I relate to most in fantasy literature. I discovered her in my teens, married Paul and gave birth to Beorn while she was courted by, mated to, and mother to the children of, Sebell, and I love the person she has become in the most recent books in the series.

There was another thread around here that asks this.
Anyway... Cheval is french for Horse.
Horse was a nickname I got when I was a kid
because I was hard to tackle in football.
As I went to high school, I took French class and
the name Cheval was born and stuck with me since then.
(When I played high school football, most the players thought
that my real first name was Cheval)
25 years later, some friends still call me Cheval.
It was also my character name when I worked
in a renaissance festival in Largo, FL for 5 years.
No Chronicles involvement and it's the only name I use.

It's me not-so-serious pen name. I've used it for about six years in all my online endeavours and, of course, as the "character" through which I do most of the writing for my site. Started when I was asked to write some articles for a long gone (greatly missed) comedy site called About Milk and I've used it ever since.

"Ken" is a tip of the cap to the Pythons who used the name for all manner of odd characters (Ken Shabby, Ken Cleanairsytems, etc.) and "Socrates" sounds like what a pretentious, self-inolved bumbling fool might pick as a pen name to make himself seem important.

It's sort of taken on a life all it's own, to be honest. Won't be long before I lose track of where I end and Ken begins.

This name just popped into my head when I was registering. I dont' know where I got it from, but it just sounds like a fantasy character's name, perhaps a tough bad guy warrior.

Usivius: the name the priest said he baptized me as, and even produced a 'fake' baptismal certificate with this long 'greek' name: Usivius Urineus Harrison (not sure on the middle name). Apparently my parents were initially in shock then all had a good laugh. When the stroy was told to me, the name stuck in my head and I have used it as my pseudoname for 20 years now...

Interesting. To be honest, Usivius, I think of you as a volcano. Don't laugh...but when I first saw your name at the Watch, I glanced over it quickly and was reminded of "Vesuvius." Therefore, you are 'Usivius Vesuvius' every time I read your name.
