Hmmm....
I hope I'm not whipping a dead Rahynyn here but I seem to recall a TNG episode that deals exclusively with that pesky PD.
Some Federation people were spying on a People who were about to make a technological leap or something, (they spied through a window made to look like a hilltop) someone got hurt and would have died( I think Picard) so they 'fessed up and admitted they were from space and took a woman on board and showed her the planet from space, offered to take her with them. she declined and went back to her home knowing of the existence of "spacemen" and the reality of space travel.
Or something like that. They definately screwed up on that one!
[later] Kinda remembering more now:
The Natives thought the Enterprise people were Gods when they 'caught ' them spying and picard had to show them that they were merely 'spacemen'. Either way the PD was toast.

In that episode it wasn't Picard that got hurt, it was Riker. He then wound up in a hospital where a woman would only help Riker if he would have sex with her. She wanted sex with an alien.

No, that's a different episode. This one was where a team, not from the Enterprise, was observing these folks who were very much like Vulcans, but at the bow & arrow stage. They looked like Vulcans, and were very logical. I don't remember the explanation of why they were so much like Vulcans. But there was an equipment malfunction, and one of the observers was badly injured. The Enterprise was sent to help. But before they got there, a native found the observation base, because the holo-projector was offline.

It had a fantastic scene, when Picard took the woman who was the leader of the village onto the Enterprise, trying to show her that they were just people who had more advanced technology.

As I understand it, it was intended as a joke. But like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, it was turned into a religion. The difference is, while the Turtles were cute, thongs are, indeed, worthy of worship. :)

Fist, that's sig worthy.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

thong song??? .. that must have occurred after I ditched it ;) lol

now I am catching up on re-runs cos thats all i have left ;)

am looking forward to the 'thong song' now ;)

I just found Sisco just way too melodramatic .. like a Patrick Stewart wannabe or something ..

now Stewart is worship-worthy ;)

I cant imagine him wearing a thong but :( lol .. nor thongs plural ;)

Used to have a crush on Data during the first season. Then I saw him without the makeup on and UGGGGH! That ended it. Hate to see Brent Spiner in a thong!!!!! :-x

That documentary called "Trekies" from a few years back was pretty good.

There is this rapper also with the name "Sisco" who did "Thong Song" awhile back. I would post the lyrics but too many people would find my home and throw huge stones at the back of my head. :D
