We do not yet know that Linden dies in the real world.

She certainly seems to think she will.

True, but her death is not certain.

Granted. Although, aside from divine intervention (ie the Creator) I don't think her chances look good. After all, Linden is a doctor: she knows to recognize fatal injuries (and she certainly seems to think hers is fatal).

Agreed - but we do have to remember that with the deputies present emergency care will be more readily available to her than it was to Covenant in 2nd Chronicles. I'm not saying that I think she will survive, I just think it's premature to say for certain that she won't.

I've been thinking that the bullet which made a hole in Linden's shirt didn't come out of her back. She thinks that her shirt should have a bigger hole at the back but then she just forgets about it. I think a big hole at the back of her shirt would find a way of reminding her of its existence. I think there isn't a hole at all.
I wonder if the white gold ring stopped the bullet. Linden was wearing the ring on a chain so that the ring hung between her breasts, about where the bullet went, allowing for some swinging of the chain. Now however the effective stopping power of a ring is highly suspect, but it might mean the small edge between life and death in a tight situation. As for the ring itself, I expect it to be quite deformed by the impact. I think this will have huge effects later on. Like the Arch of Time, white gold has been one of the sacred cows of the series that have never actually gotten harmed - until now.

If it was deformed, wouldnt we have seen it already, such as when Linden uses the WG.

but it's like when you come to the land and be healed. the ring is made whole at the beginning, and then near the end, it'll find a way to be deformed again--before Linden returns to the land just like she'll be injured again before her return.
right?
well, i think Nerdanel's explanation was good, and that the bullet did hit the white gold, but it's an extremely slim chance--seeing as though she was running at the time and the ring was...well, a ring. Whose to say it did not go right through it? It would be very lucky indeed if it did deflect the bullet.

I'm willing to bet that even the bullet found Linden too boring to kill.
Oh, wait, wrong thread.
Sorry!
Anyway, Foul himself could heal Roger of any wounds if it was to Foul's benefit.
He's already proven this by interceding to help Linden.
But, like everyone else has mentioned something is going to happen to Linden to duplicate her injury just before she translates back to reality.
Somebody has to have a gun in the Land because somebody is going to shoot her.
(I just wish it could be me!)

She will not necessarily be shot again (as much as we might wish it would happen.) TC was not stabbed with a knife at the end of WGW.

Able to see the blow which Lord Foul hammered down on
Covenant as if the wild magic were a dagger.
When the blow passed, it left white flame spouting from
the center of his chest.
So you're saying not "literally"a bullet wound?
Perhaps, but it's going to be close enough I imagine.
