...It's also been said before that perhaps his name was backwards..millitary style, as in: Captan Hile, Troy.

But HT wasn't a soldier (or similar); he was a civilian. There's no reason he'd announce his name backwards.

Wow you really went all out to find somone called Hile! Funny it should be an author as well. Hile seems to pop up as a last name a few times as well.

Is there any reason to believe Hile Troy's middle initial is not G?

Well working in a Government think tank, he'd probely be known as Mr Hile at the very least.

When I think of Kevin (or the name 'Eric', fisty) I think of the Vikings and Erik the Red who were explorers...

Leif ERikson (eric's son!) beat Columbus to North America by Centuries.-Landed in Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, and New England

Some believe the Carthaginians beat Leif by something like 1200 years.

Ah, those guys are just sore because Carthage lost the Punic Wars. ;)

Seriously, while it would no doubt be possible to cross the Atlantic on a Phoenician trireme, it's not something you would want to do as a regular trip. The Carthaginians weren't much interested in going anywhere unless they could trade with the locals and bring the profits back to Carthage.

Anyway, Kevin is not a Carthaginian name, so this post is strictly . . .

Or maybe SRD just chose the name and didn't realize there might be a "problem."

Or.... it's all part of some grand plan that will be revealed in Fatal Revenant

As he's said, this is, indeed, the case.

I guess he could ret-con (retro-active continuity, for those who don't read comic books ) it. But, since he didn't have any 2nd or 3rd Chrons in mind when he wrote the 1st, that wasn't his original plan.

two things:

1.) I knew the first was the case (I am in the process of reading the GI and spotted that one)

2.) that was intended to be facetious (though, if he did retro-continue or whatever it was, that'd be fine with me.... like he needs my approval anyway, lol)
