Dirty Rotten Scoundrels was great, but more for Michael Cain than for Martin.
(They're remaking The Pink Panther? Really? *shakes head*)

For me, Peter Sellers = Dr. Strangelove

True 'nuff.
But, I think of Peter Sellers and that's the movie I think of, even if another actor stole the film out from under him.
So again, for me:
Peter Sellers =
Dr. Strangelove
...although
Dr. Strangelove = Slim Pickens

holy! the mate and i were JUST having this discussion this evening!!
i won. should NEVER have been done...doesn't even, in reverence to PS...want to SEE a trailer. i WILL avoid it. and i'm not even that big a Sellers fan...i just think like most of you, i see, that it needn'tve been done. it's like (for those of you that remember) having someone ELSE play Captain Kangaroo. can't be done, shouldn'tve been attempted.
(HLT...you cracked me up man!!

I
loved him for his comic talents in that one! WHO KNEW? heh. Like Lloyd Bridges and Robert Stack in the Airplane movies, it puts them on a different level. I love a good actor who can really "get it" and do some fine comedy. and vice versa too, ie Robin Williams, etc. it impresses me for some reason....

I went to school with the grandson of the guy who played the police chief.
The one with the twitchy eye.
I forget his character's name...
Anyway, that's my claim to fame.
I loved the Pink Panther films (at least, the ones with Sellers. After he died, they went a bit... rubbish).

I've heard excellent things about Being There, but I just can't get into it.
