Maybe Dr Evil just has a PhD in being evil and is not a Med doctor...

I saw this show once and I didn't like it for a second. Frankly, it is utterly unbelievable--not in a medical accuracy sense (i'm too ignorant to reacognize that) but the simple the fact that anytime anyone says ANYTHING, house turns it into some sarcastic, "look how witty and bitter I am" comment. Yeah, people can be jerks in real life--but House is just too far. He is not realistic or believable.
No one turns everything he hears into some sarcastic, "I hate the world" jab.
*sigh* yet another reason why I stick to anime.
Were it not for Firefly, I would have lost all hope in American TV.

I just saw the new House commercial last night. I can't believe he's curing a dead person so he can put her heart in a dying person!

No no, Dr Evil spent six years at Evil Medical School, a PhD takes 3-4 years. I'm guessing he was an Evil General Practitioner, as he'd have been called Mr Evil if he had become a surgeon.
One of my friends is a medical student and she says House is like a lesson on how not to interact with patients. I haven't noticed any glaring medical errors, but that's largely because the cases focus on obscure diseases and far fetched chemical interactions I think. I doubt they'll ever stray into my field of expertise, so I'll probably remain blissfully ignorant. I'm still very much enjoying the show though, the clinic scenes were funny but I noticed a lot of the gags in them were lifted straight from urban myths, so it's probably best they scale them back in favour of more original sketches. House still finds a way to make me laugh out loud at least a couple of times every episode. The supporting cast is great, particularly Cuddy, Wilson and Cameron. I thought it was great when House was trying to see how much money Wilson was prepared to lend him, and Wilson's comeback was funny too.
Surely the worst doctor in the world is Dr Zoidberg? "Scalpel, blood bucket, priest, next!"

Dr Evil nver got into med school. He came from the same school as Mr Power. Dr Evil has a PhD in being evil. Would you let anybody who lookedd like that operate on you? -->

Guys, this thread isn't about Dr. Evil. It's about House, and how he's gonna cure a dead woman, and then take her heart and give it to a dying guy.

He didn't really cure her. Just kept her body alive on repirators so he could see if her heart was healthy enough to trasnplant.
Although the entire episode was about infidelity..even the clinic scenes.
I though everything tied in nicely.

Next Episode: House crosses the line!

Holy cliffhanger!!
Who saw the season finale?
A cop gets some strange brian disease, and then Foreman gets it too. After he's cured (of course) he can't distinguish between his left and right.
The only thing I didn't like about the episode(s) was Foreman constantly sucking on his lips and bugging out his eyes.

I saw the commercial for the finale....really interesting. House loses it? House NEVER loses it? Really? It seems to me he loses it in every freaking commercial! Hello? Are we watching the same commercials here, supporting actor dude? Wake up!

I'm tired of your House bashing.
He's the best TV doctor since Trapper John MD -the newer show, set AFTER M*A*S*H*

Whatever. Actually, I was bashing the extra, not House. BTW, I saw last night's commercial. Did they rescue the baby? Who took it? Hows the mom doing? Did House not lose it again? Cripes that was a cliffhanger ending on that commercial!

dAN is finding it hard to get closure on the show, since he only watches the commercials (shameless teasers that they are).
My wife and I like the show a lot, and have it on our TiVo list. Other than TiVo (with it's lovely skip function), we don't watch TV any more, so (ironically) we never see any of the commercials.
Good show, but I wonder how long before people lose interest in the anti-hero crotchetiness. Yay, I just made up a word. Crotchetiness.

Sorry: dictionary.reference.com/search?r=2&q=crotchetiness
Looks like you were beaten to it.
I've been watching House recently, because a few of the guys I'm living with like it. It's entertaining enough, but it just seems like every episode is exactly the same.

Oh, Murrin, you've deflated my little Waynhim ego. I was all excited about crotchetiness.
How about crotchitation instead? I'll bet
that's not a word.

Of course, it sounds like it might be crotch vegetation.....eeewwww.

You'll always be the originator of crotchetiness to me, dukkha! Just like I'll always be the originator of "Commercials are the Cliffs Notes of TV" to me, too!

Dead Ringers have started parodying it:
House: "Because every show, the first diagnosis we make is
always wrong."
House: "Cameron, spout some medical jargon so I can insult you some more"
I've noticed something that makes me laugh though; Cameron always wears her glasses to look down the microscope. Anyone who wears glasses and uses microscopes would know that a) you focus the microscope to your own eyes and b) you can hardly see anything if you look through your glasses, because you can't get close enough to the eyepieces.

Yeah, I saw the Dead Ringers bit. "And what do you think, interchangeable attractive sidekick?"
Heh.

I bought the whole first season as a present to myself for getting a job! Woohoo! I had a great big House marathon this weekend.

They are playing reruns every night on TV. I only recently started watching House on a regular basis - this past season and I loved it! It is great to be able to TiVo the older episodes and catch up on everything I have missed.
I love that House is an asshole. He says things that everyone thinks but is too afraid to say.
Do you think that House and Cutty will get together?
