Yeah....I think Bucky will go soon, if not next. Hopefully there won't be another flat week like that, either. I kept telling myself they sounded weak because Kevin was gone and there was no longer anyone truly sucky to compare them to, but still, it all was just boring. I actually thought Catherine did the best job, but she almost got the axe!

I'm hoping Bucky will go next, but he may be getting enough of the toothless redneck teenage vote to keep him going for a while. I hope that Ace leaves soon also.

I actually think Ace will go next, depending on whether or not the toothless redneck teenage voters are still able to keep it together enough to push all those tiny buttons in the correct sequence.....

Last night's episode was almost as bad as last week's. I'm starting to think that the contestants this year, on the whole, are just not as talented overall as they have been in years past.

Having said that, I still think Bucky should leave tonight.

Bucky survives again. So long, Mandisa.

Bucky's finally gone, but this week, it should've been Ace who was voted off.

I bought the paper at the local covenience store this morning and the clerk asked me what I thought about Taylor winning--I looked at the photo and said, "Wow, I always thought he was a girl!" (I've never watched the show, I've only heard glimpses of people talking about it on The Dan Patrick ESPN radio show.)

It seems Kelly Clarkson is the only one who has ever done anything since they won. Did that black girl (Fantasia?) do any good songs?

According to what we've been told by the American Idol producers, Fantasia's debut R&B album sold over 2 million copies. All of the American Idols put together, including Clay Aiken, have sold over 30 million albums. Not too shabby.

Fantasia also had a quest spot on Missy Elliot's last CD, which aren't given out to everyone.

As far as I can tell, Carrie Underwood was a country singer, so is unlikely to be very successful outside of the US.

I had high hopes for Katherine McPhee, but I doubt Taylor will sell very well in NZ, so it looks like Kelly Clarkson is American Idol's only internation success story for now.

Yea, I havn't heard any of America's Idol winners apart from Kelly.

Now that I think about it, I've only really heard Shannon Noll (runner up in first Aussie Idol) of the singers that got a record deal.

Kat McPhee will still do well, I believe.

McPhee has no soul. There is nothing behind that pretty face of hers, and I can't stand her. She's kinda like a really well-done muppet... if she does well, though, I won't be suprised, cause some people seem to think that being a pretty little tart is more important than having talent. No offense intended to anyone who likes her... really, it's nothing personal.

Ok, enough being mean... I'm sorry. Haven't had food yet, that makes me crabby.

Heh, a lot of girls hate Katherine, which only proves how pretty she is, not how talented she isn't. I find it funny how women always call us men sexist, when it's so clearly women who are. Your rant against Kat is the proof of it, too.




I think she'll sell more records that Taylor, too, because she will appeal to a much wider audience. Not because she's prettier, either. If there's a reason, it's probably that most of us who like Michael McDonald already have his cds.

I like plenty of girls who are prettier than I am. And I DO think that she is a beautiful girl. And for the record, I am more than happy with how I look. I think the only thing that my rant "proves" is that I don't like her because I believe her to have no personality (or soul) and less talent than most of the other contestants. That's it.

Please, honey, there are plenty of negative things about me. I'm pretty sure sexist isn't one of those things, but if you'd like a list of my negative traits to use against me in the future, just ask. Just don't make up any new things.

Well that's kinda a cop out. I was hoping for more than that.

You're right. Courtship has never been my strong point. So, you think she has no soul. I disagree. If she were a cat, I'd agree. But she's human, and therefore has a soul. Did her singing reflect it in the show? Perhaps. I thought I saw something from her I didn't from any of the other contestants, but I have to admit I'm drawn to the 'diva' type pop voice over types, which is prolly why I like Kelly Clarkson over the other winers, and liked Latoya London and Vonzell Adams better than the winners. Of course, I really thought Chris Daughtry was the best singer this year. Taylor oozes personality, but I just don't think that will translate to sustained cd sales, but what the heck; I'm no music biz pro. But, all that is kind of a side point; you say that you dislike Kat for reasons other than what I said, which were mainly based on the observation than Kat appeals to the guys I talk to, while the ladies I talk to generally hate her.
