Easter wasn't even a Catholic holiday to begin with.
And I don't really celebrate something I don;t believe in.

Sarge, does it piss you off when you have to stand in Church because of all the "Holiday Catholics" that show up of the big holidays?
I think seating tickets for Christmas and Easter should be given out some random Sunday in June for those that show up every week.

I think it's funny watching them stumble through all the spoken stuff.

Our priest actually mixes things up just to mess with the irregulars.
Little stuff like you mentioned.
It's pretty funny.

If you really want to screw with them, mmake like you're going to stand up, or if standing, make like you're going to kneel.
Gets 'em every time.

Just eat lots of turkey and then take a nap.
Then repeat that on the same day.

You forgot about the Watching of the Football.
And the stuffing, and the gravy, and the mashed 'taters, and the green beans, and the cranberry jelly, and the pumpking pie with whipped cream......
C'mon, November!

hhhhmmm....first I'm thinking about me celebrating Thanksgiving in another country, then I think about people from another country celebrating Thanksgiving....."wild, wacky stuff!"
actually, when I was a young lad, my mother was assisting some Polish immigrants get established, and we celebrated TG Poland style at their house. I absolutely have always despised keilbasa, and sauerkraut, and except for the warm wishes for a new better day for these people, I resented them for ruining my dinner....

Who in the hell said, "I think I will eat some of this rotten cabbage, hey it's good!"? #1. I hate cabbage! #2. Fermenting it only makes it more nasty!

HLT: i'm just glad the holiday Catholics make it at some point. since i have trouble memorizing the creed i bear the unregulars a bit better than others. Julie smacks me when I sing the choir leaders parts during the mass though.

i have to schedule confessions one on one (i work Thu & Sat) so i don't go but maybe twice a year, and only if i remember.

when it snowed two years ago, there were only a bit over 100 for midnight mass, so that was a pleasant experience, so maybe the crowds do bother a bit. i do enjoy my monday masses quite a bit. (i do adoration right after the mass)
try this recipe for sauerkraut.
olive in a big frying pan. get up to heat.
drain sauerkraut really good, rinse if necessary.
add kraut to pan.
add canned or fresh (chopped) apples when kraut is at good temp.
add cinnamon to season.
serve.
