By the way...if you do happen to go on TV........... Would you mind wearing a www.kevinswatch.com t-shirt? :P ;)

Maybe this would be a good time for us to make a "Conformity of purpose will be achieved through the mutual satisfaction of requirements." t-shirt. Hehe.-jay
Sure, I've always wanted one...

:) I would if I could. The ABC just rang and spoke to me not five minutes ago - I didn't get the Adjudicator position. What they need is someone with an academic degree in literature, specialising in science fiction or fantasy. If anyone is interested and has these qualifications, please email or pm me and I will direct you to the person who you need to talk to.

As I have said already said mate, I'm sorry. But it's nice to see you being so good about it - shows how great you are. 8)

I wish all the luck to the person who does get it. :)

I did not know that you could get an academic degree in literature with a specialty in science fiction and fantasy. 8O

Which universities offer this? I might want to get a graduate degree at one of them.

I agree Lucimay! That's kind of ridiculous! There's only, what, 20 million of us here in Oz...what are the odds!

Wow. And all in the last 12 hours. Damn all you people on the wrong side of the world.

Real pity LM. Still...there's a chance that you'll be their best qualified candidate anyway, so you may indeed hear from them again...hope so.

(And the Gap is the subject of a prime time quiz final? Not sure what to say... )

The same university where I got my undergraduate degree in psyc: University of Queensland. I told the ABC to ring there, as they have a lecturer who has a degree in sci-fi.

Well, that is a bit far away for me. But if I ever hear of one around here, I might finally get my underachieving butt in gear and go to grad school.

The problem is that, to the Australian viewing public, I am essentially a nobody. And what qualifications do I have? therefore, somebody watching will see essentially a fan act as an adjudicator. Hardly the most informed or qualified person, in their eyes. I do not mind at all that they declined me, and hope sincerely that they find another most suitable.

Now that's insane. Assuming the guy has read the books I dare him/her to go face to face with you on Gap expertise and trivia (now that would make a good show in and of itself)---damm the system, I should have been born a Basque!
