EDIT: I read the transcripts for the remainder of the season. It gets way more interesting, and leaves you with a cliffhanger at the end.
yeah, I'm not much for surprises...I've been sneaking a look at the transcripts too (mainly to find more choice Sawyerisms...gawd, that guy cracks me up!)

Oh, I loved Maternity Leave (I'm a great Danielle Fan). He's right, the rest of the season really does start to heat up now.

This season definitely had a lag right about the time the tailenders reunited with the 1st season group. After last night's rerun episode (the Eko/monster ep), I remember feeling let down by the season during its first run. Watching them in reruns now, however, I can't relate to that feeling. We've been getting the reruns at two-a-week pace for awhile, without breaks. Seeing them virtually back to back like this removes the sense of plodding pace. The upcoming Sawyer episode (Long Con) is one of the best of either season 1 or 2. I'm just bored with the languishing Kate/Jack "romance." I'm bored with Sun (Jin is cool) and her miracle pregnancy. And I thought the episode with Kate going back to the hatch where she had her baby was pointless. However, as others have noted here, it definitely picks up near the end.

And yes, Elfgirl, Sawyer keeps it fun (though I suspect you're having a bit more fun than I). My wife keeps a list of all the nicknames he gives people. "Chewy" is my favorite.

the constant interruptions did hurt. getting them on dvd should help with the pace. i' just hoping the end the series before it runs out of steam.

"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

ANY episode which focuses on Sawyer is good - and no, not just because I fancy him. His character is the most interesting/flawed/aternatively lovable and detestable, a real paradox, and perfectly played by Josh Holloway.

I was bored with it from day one. There's no chemistry there.

Malik23 wrote:And I thought the episode with Kate going back to the hatch where she had her baby was pointless.
That'd be Claire (she's the preggy who had bub on the island. Kate is the ditherer who won't just grab Sawyer and shag him senseless even though everyone thinks she should. Gotta say Ana-lucia got it right! ;)

I love his nicknames for Sayid - "Captain Falafel" and "Captain Ay-rab" will always crack me! A recent one for Locke is a beauty as well - "Gimpy McCrutch"....

Season 2 finale in the UK in less than two weeks. The series has been fairly interesting so far.

Only 3 more weeks, we're almost there. However, we will only get 6 episodes before it goes on another 3 month hiatus, because they are showing 6 episodes from Oct 4-Nov Sweeps, then no reruns, but instead a new show (Daybreak with Ty Diggs) for 3 months, and show the final 17 episodes straight through from Feb to May. This is because of all the rerun complainers last year.

The Producers only want to do 4 or 5 seasons, and would prefer that ABC not push them to do more than that, was the last I heard.
