Nah, you're not the one calling me grumpy. You merely quoted me before I could finish my last post. :D

Heh. Actually, I just asked Jay for one and he made it. That's why I included the poll (yes, mostly for the yay votes, but I like everybody to have an option); didn't want the same thing happening. If I thought the same thing would happen, I wouldn't have tried. That said, dAN, I still respect your (and the silent others') opposition. I just disagree, is all.

That would rock, but since I voted yay on the comics forum, I may be a bit biased.

Banning, on the other hand, would suck.

I voted "nay" due to how little the other authors' forums get used. I haven't read Erickson, and prolly won't in the forseeable future. I have read King and Tolkien, I read other general literature, and I like Star Wars. I do visit those forums, but even those see only sporadic use.

Put it this way, it doesn't hurt anyone a bit to add forums, I just don't see the dire need.

I have not said anything rude, unkind, or grumpy at all, but I see that isn't stopping you from attacking me personally, so I'm going to stop now, rather than continue to take this, because it's clear that I'm the minority here for the moment.
not agreeing with me is grumpy.

I have no problems with either forum being made; but as I said in the comics thread, I would prefer to see some of the internal errors cleared up first. :)

Hear hear Duchess. :)

For what it's worth, I haven't read the books, and I still voted yes, just on general principle. I'll probably never use it, but having unused forums lying around doesn't bother me much. I like them being there in case people want to use them.

(And since I've said the same about every proposed forum addition or deletion, I'll just shut up now.)

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I am not in favor of adding additional forums, as I don't really feel it is necessary.

Just my two cents worth. :)

I voted for it... It's not necessary, but it would be nice to have a forum. It would make it easier for folks who haven't read the entire series to chat without fear of running into spoilers.

I knew a guy who was so afraid of spoilers, he wouldn't even read the books he was afraid of having spoiled, because he concluded that the books were the ultimate spoilers....he died in a car crash, seems he refused to read a 'bridge out' sign.

I agree completely. I havn't read the books, and I'm not too fussed if they are there.

ARGH! Why won't you people read Erikson? Deadhouse Gates is one the the best books I have ever read.

Hey, it ain't our fault if you don't read Martin!

I've read Martin. And unlike Martin, Erikson's books get better with each one (I couldn't finish FFC. I'll still give the next one a shot, though.).

Well, is it Martin's fault he starts off so bloody perfect?

Runes is the ONLY work of fiction I've read in over 20 yrs....since I started reading Castaneda, in fact....so why should I read these books or care about a forum for them again?
