JEFFERY NIMOVITZ, a normal hapless teenager, suffered an unfortunate mishap in chemistry class, as a beaker filled with a liquid of unknown origin SHATTERED, spilling its contents onto his lab coat, while he was busy OGLING the cheerleader, PRISSY PENNY. Once these VOLATILE chemicals mixed with the ink of his MAGIC MARKER, they proceeded to seep through his skin, into his blood stream. The resulting bio-chemical CONFLAGRATION caused an UNCANNY change in the lad, giving him extraordinary POWERS over TIME, SPACE, DIMENSION and CREATION ITSELF. With these powers came a new AWARENESS; and with this awareness, young Jeffery had an EPIPHANY. He now knew things happened for a reason, and he also realized he'd meet his ULTIMATE NEMESIS in ISSUE 5. In fact, this NEMESIS would likely turn out to be his classmate DRAKE DEADLY, who took the beaker blast in his face, horribly DISFIGURING Dirk*. Jeff also realized, Mainly due to the LOGO on his newly-materialized COSTUME, that he was destined to be THE KEEPER OF THE GREEN GLASS DOOR!
*Dirk is Dirk Daunting, Drake's lab partner, and currently employed as Dr. Deadly's personal assistant. Drake avoided facial scarring by wearing the iron mask he usually wore to school. It's kind of odd, but he's a foreign exchange student, and apparently that's the custom in his homeland, Baklava. Unfortunately for Dirk, the glass shards ricocheted off Drakes mask, into Dirk's face. The chemicals, however, seeped into Drakes mask, giving it strange and awesome powers. This was all explained in more detail in issue #6.
