...getting ready tonight to watch the Suns and Hornets play...

Go Suns!!!

Gotta work a few hours tomorrow, then doing the lawn work (front & back), going to get me & my boys' haircut, then having some friends over for some cards and boiling a sack of crawfish.

Sunday...recovering from Saturday...

I am in Green bay for Packer fan Fest...two days of rubbin' elbows with Packer greats and current players (future greats hopefully!). Symposiums, etc. It's just me and my son.

I don't think I have to file! I didn't make enough!

Yay for poorness!

I looove filing taxes, because it always means I get a nice chunk of money back. And Balon. . . you might try ot file anyway, to see if you can get the earned income credit. It's free money. :D

Looks appealing, I'll give i that much now!

I'll be checking that out in the morning, though. It's a rule of mine not to combine my drooping eyelids and taxes.

Just a good rule of thumb.

:D

Thanks! I LOVE free money.

<singing> ...and alllllll that jaaaazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

I'm off to do some jazzing (Norah Jones--love singing Norah stuff!), followed by a late arvo get together with some friends...fine wine, antipasto (bring on the soft cheese!), singing and probably a lot of ranting by me...

...oh yeah, I said I wasn't going to drink this weekend... :P

Sounds WAY fun, Sea.

I hate doing taxes. It's no guarantee that I get a refund. One time I actually ended up owing the gov't more money, even though I had earned below the poverty line.

i am a member of a movie-geek message board and i am meeting up with a few of my fellow board members today to go see "300". too bad we couldn't find a theatre that was showing "The Host" as well, that would have made for a heck of a fun double-feature matinee.

And we're definitely going to hell, but we'll have all the best stories to tell.

Oh yeah, I know.

A few years ago, I was sending the g-ment a $1500 cheque every month to pay for some back taxes (I was self employed)...Revenue Canada called me up to say that it wasn't enough..they informend me that they were not a bank, and not into the practice of lending out money.
I asked them , "So it's only Big Businesses that you give money to, not small ones? Small one's you just ......" Well the rest of that statement is inappropriate.
They backed off, until I got a regular job working for someone else..Paying regular taxes...it was at that point they started garnishing my wages, even though I was making all of 11 dollars an hour.

So the next two years, I decided to work under the table, and didn't claim one cent of income.

The gov't makes the mob look like bungling amateurs when it comes to collecting money, eh, drew?

I don't think I'll ever understand the tax system.
